Pudacuo National Park

Pudacuo National Park is an important part of the world natural heritage "Three Parallel Rivers" scenic spot, and also an important part of Ramsar international wetland. It is composed of two ecotourism areas, Bitahai and gudu lake.

Pudacuo National Park, located in the center of the "Three Parallel Rivers" World Natural Heritage in Northwest Yunnan, is composed of Bitahai Nature Reserve, an important international wetland, and Duhu scenic spot in Haba area, a "Three Parallel Rivers" world natural heritage. Bitahai, gudu lake and militang subalpine pasture are the main parts of the park. It is also one of the main tourist attractions in Shangri La.

With an altitude of 3500 meters to 4159 meters, it is a provincial nature reserve and an important part of the "Three Parallel Rivers" scenic spot. Pudacuo National Park has geological landforms, lakes and wetlands, forest meadows, river valleys and streams, rare animals and plants, and the original ecological environment is well preserved. It is 22 kilometers away from Shangri La City, with a total area of 1313 square kilometers.

Pudacuo is mainly composed of Duhu Lake (walking length is about 3.3 km) and Bitahai (National 5A tourist area, walking length is about 4.4 km), with an altitude of 3500 m to 4159 m. It is a provincial nature reserve and an important part of "Three Parallel Rivers" scenic spot. The total management area of the planning area is 1313 square kilometers, which is developed according to seven major plates, and the developed area only accounts for 3 ‰ of the total area. The park has geological landforms, lakes and wetlands, forest meadows, river valleys and streams, rare animals and plants, and the original ecological environment is well preserved.

The reserve has a sub temperate climate with long autumn and winter and short spring and summer. The annual average temperature is 5.4 ℃, the monthly average temperature of the hottest month (July) is 13.2 ℃, and the monthly average temperature of the coldest month (January) is - 3.8 ℃

The vegetation in Pudacuo National Park Reserve is mainly Abies fargesii, followed by Rhododendron, Fargesia, moss, honeysuckle, spruce, alpine pine, alpine oak, short thorn oak, Sequoia, Betula platyphylla, Populus davidiana, Betula platyphylla, etc. according to different altitudes and Yin Yang slopes. From the point of view of meadow and aquatic plants, it is mainly Artemisia meadow, and the aquatic vegetation is mainly Xiangman community, Potamogeton glabra community The community of foxtail, meihuazao, etc.

Animal resources

There are many rare animals in the nature reserve of Pudacuo National Park. The main protected animals are black necked Crane, macaque, lynx, clouded leopard, golden cat, black muntjac, horse muntjac, maoguan deer, forest musk deer, Tibetan pheasant, green tailed red pheasant and so on. Three kinds of protected animals are: Blood Pheasant antelope. There are also some economic and ornamental animals, mainly black bears, Tibetan pikas, flying squirrels, plateau rabbits, red bellied squirrels, bamboo mice, green headed diving ducks, mallards, parrots and a variety of thrush birds with high ornamental value.

BITA heavy lipped fish:

It is said that there is a kind of rare fish called "BITA heavy lipped fish" growing in BITA sea. It is a very old fish. It is an ancient creature left over from the Quaternary glacial period. It has delicate meat and delicious taste. It is a leader in fish food. However, putaco belongs to the Tibetan area. Tibetans follow the principle of heaven burial and water burial. Fish eat human flesh. Therefore, Tibetans do not eat fish. Those fish live freely in the BITA sea, no one catches them, and they live and die on their own. Moreover, this kind of fish is usually hidden deep at the bottom of the lake, and rarely touches the shore. Therefore, the Tibetan people regard it as a god fish, and those who can see God fish are very lucky.

Main attractions

Pudacuo National Park can be divided into three tourist attractions, namely, gudu lake, grassland viewing platform and Bitahai. Each tour bus has a guide to give visitors a general explanation of the scenic spots.

Both Lake

Gudu lake is the first scenic spot. There are three ways to view. The first one is to follow the bus, the second one is to take the bridge on the lake. It takes about one hour and 30 minutes to travel, and the third one is to take a cruise boat for about 500 meters.

Bitahai

Bitahai is famous for its azalea trees all over the mountains. Every may or June, the azalea blooms and its petals fall into the lake. When the fish eat it, they will turn over and float to the surface of the water, which is called "cuckoo drunk fish". Bitahai is the last scenic spot in Pudacuo, and the longest time to visit is about 2 to 3 hours. Generally, tourists bring their own food.

Cultural Village

Walking into Xiagei Tibetan cultural village is like walking into the simplicity, life and colorful folk painting. Although it is the cultural landscape outside the Pudacuo Park, it is particularly affectionate against the natural landscape.

In the Tibetan style house, the carving process and finished products of wooden ware, Thangka and yak horn bone are displayed, showing the wisdom and art of the Tibetan nation. The Mani stone mounds guarding the scenic spot and the endless Sutra barrel beside the stream carry the Tibetan people's faith and sustenance. At the moment, the rich religious atmosphere itself is a cultural landscape.

Development and utilization

In 2006, the Yunnan Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture established Shangri-La's National Park in the local legislation, and declared that the relevant area was originally approved by the State Council in 1988 and was included in the "Sanjiang and the key scenic spots of the country". It is the first "National Park" in the Chinese mainland. However, the local legislature has no authority to approve the National Park, so the park should not be regarded as the first official national park in China.

Infrastructure

On June 21, 2007, Shangri La Pudacuo National Park, the first National Park in mainland China, was officially unveiled. At that time, Qin Guangrong, Secretary of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and governor, Liu Ping, vice governor, he Zhanjun, vice chairman of the CPPCC Provincial Committee, and Ding Shaoxiang, Secretary General of the provincial government, unveiled the park. The concept was proposed by the Yunnan government, which also said it would build more "national parks" in the province.

Management construction

In June 2008, the State Forestry Administration issued a notice and agreed to list Yunnan Province as a pilot province for the construction of national parks, "relying on qualified nature reserves to carry out the construction of national parks.". However, the construction of Meili Snow Mountain National Park is not listed in the list of nature reserves at all levels in Yunnan Province, and it is still one of the scenic spots of "Three Parallel Rivers National Scenic Spot".

The National Park is the first national park approved by the forestry authorities in Chinese mainland. The approving party is the State Forestry Administration, the head of which is the Forestry Department of Yunnan.

Since October 1, 2018, the ticket price of Pudacuo National Park has been reduced from 138 yuan / person to 100 yuan / person, and the price of light vehicles in the scenic area has been reduced from 120 yuan / person time to 80 yuan / person time. During the environmental protection renovation period of the scenic area, the ticket price of Pudacuo National Park is 40 yuan / person time, and the price of light vehicles in the scenic area is 60 yuan / person time.

Tips

1. There is a down jacket stall at the gate of the park. You can buy or rent clothes according to your needs.

2. The tour guide will let you buy oxygen before you go. Because the highest place in Pudacuo is more than 4000 meters above sea level. The oxygen in the scenic spot costs 68 yuan per bottle, depending on the physical condition. If there is no altitude reaction in Shangri La County, you can not buy it, or two people can have one bottle.

Traffic information

Shuttle bus: there is a shuttle bus to Pudacuo at Shangri La passenger station every day, 30 yuan / round trip, leaving at 9:30 a.m. and returning at 15:00 p.m.

Diqing tourist service center of dukezong ancient city in Shangri La city has four shuttle buses to Pudacuo every day, 30 yuan per round trip. (Note: the fourth bus will only be available when there are many tourists.)
