Liushantou village is a famous ancient tree village in Yanzhang Township, Longquan City. There are more than 500 towering ancient trees, among which more than 300 are more than 1000 years old. Liushantou village is built close to the mountain. The residential buildings in the village are stacked and scattered. The lush vegetation on all sides envelops the village. From a distance, it looks like a bright pearl inlaid on the Jasper. More than 500 towering ancient trees are more like craftsmen's deliberate carving, which makes the Jasper more layered and green. Liushantou village has abundant light, warm winter and cool summer, beautiful mountains and rivers, beautiful ecology, and towering ancient trees. It is one of the villages with the most rare ancient and famous trees in East China. It has more than 200 Taxus chinensis var. mairei, a first-class protected tree species issued by the Ministry of forestry of the people's Republic of China. There are 38 Taxus chinensis var. mairei with DBH of more than 50 cm, and the tree age is about 300-400 years. There are also nearly 100 ancient trees, such as maple, Magnolia, Cryptomeria fortunei, blueberry, sweet Broussonetia papyrifera and Kuchu. It has the reputation of "the first village of ancient trees in East China" and "Millennium ancient wood City"

Not long ago, several experts from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences made a special trip to liushantou village to inspect the ancient trees. When they saw hundreds of Taxus, Castanopsis sclerophylla, Liquidambar formosana and other tree species with the age of 100 years or more, they marveled at the villagers' awareness of ecological and environmental protection. At the same time, they also found two Magnolia and dalbergia trees, which may be the largest in China at present. In addition, they also found an extremely rare millennium old tree, whose name is still uncertain.

Origin of village name

Liushantou village is located between dayangjian, pingfengxian and zhaijian. It is shaped like a well, formerly known as yunjingkeng. In the early Qing Dynasty, Liu's surname was kaijijian village, hence his name.

The surname of Liu in the neighboring villages is Liu Shantou village. Now the distance from dingbutou to Dadi has been connected to the village, which provides convenience for the transportation of forest products, especially bamboo, and can increase the economic income of the villagers.

Historical evolution

The story of Liu Shantou begins more than 800 years ago in the great song dynasty. It was a sunny day. One of Liu's ancestors went hunting in the mountains. In order to chase a rabbit or a muntjac, he found this place with luxuriant trees and fertile fields. So he moved from Liucun village in Suichang and lived and worked in peace and contentment for his descendants. There are 81 families and nearly 300 people in Xiaoshan village, most of whom are surnamed Liu. The village is built close to the mountain, and the houses are stacked in layers.

Liu's ancestral hall

The ancestral hall was built in Xianfeng Period of Qing Dynasty. It is a vertical rectangular three Bay hall with a gate tower, a hall, a stage, a patio and a main hall. Through the pink walls and tiles, a period of old time is completely presented in front of us. "Zong must be able to pursue his merits and virtues, but his ancestors are far away from the past." the carved beams and painted buildings in the temple and the dripping eaves outside the temple all reveal the history and the traces of time, and show the scene of a village in the past 100 years and the changes of time. This exquisitely preserved ancient building is a place for Liu's ancestor worship, villagers' assembly, dragon lantern dance and Flower Drum Opera. Huagu opera in liushantou village has a history of more than 100 years. It was almost lost because there were no new people to learn it. Now every festival, the village can be lively. As soon as the gongs, drums and suona sound, Liu Hai goes up to the mountain to cut wood with an axe. He meets the beautiful elder sister Hu and achieves a beautiful love legend.
