Kenting Forest Recreation Area

With an area of 466.8 hectares, Kenting forest recreation area is the only tropical botanical garden in Taiwan and one of the top ten tropical botanical gardens in the world. It is built from the first tropical botanical herbarium in Taiwan. Canyons, caves, stalactites and stalagmites formed by coral reefs are the main topographical landscapes in this area, showing the wonders of natural evolution everywhere. There are more than 1000 tropical plants, especially birds, butterflies, reptiles and other insect resources. The red tailed Shrike and grey faced vulture, which are visited every autumn and winter, attract many bird watchers to follow and watch, and seem to have become another popular scenic spot.

Introduction

The whole park can be divided into three parts: the first recreation area is a sightseeing area integrating plant landscape and artificial buildings; the second recreation area is dominated by unique terrain landscape and plant landscape; the third recreation area is a primitive coral reef rain forest belt, with the same scenery as the second recreation area, which is not open to the public based on ecological protection.

After entering the park gate, you will be in the first recreation area. In the area, there are qiedong giant wood, tourist center, Flower Pavilion, artificial lake, stalagmite cave, music platform, silver leaf ban gen, wanghaitai, Xiandong and guanhailou. Among them, the more special ones are stalagmite cave and fairy cave, both of which belong to the coral reef cave. The caves are full of stalactites and stalagmites, which are rare natural wonders. The silverleaf root is a rare tree, whose roots often accumulate water, so they have to stretch out the ground to breathe air, forming a unique radial root landscape. Guanhai tower is a good place for climbing and overlooking. You can have a panoramic view of oluanbi, the Pacific Ocean, Taiwan Strait, Bashi Strait and the park. In addition to the above-mentioned traditional scenic spots, the first amusement park of forest test institute has set up a variety of theme planting areas for different groups of tropical plants.

Located on the left side of Guanhai tower, Yinlong cave is the first scene of the second recreation area. From here, you can visit umbrella Pavilion, Churong Valley, labyrinth forest, yixiantian, the first gorge and qiape cliff. Compared with the first recreation area, the second recreation area is more primitive, with the vast coral reef forest and valley. It is far away from the hustle and bustle.

The third recreation area enters from the first gorge and goes out to view the sea floor, forming a long strip from north to south, which is distributed in the southeast side of the second recreation area. There are coral reef Valley, tropical virgin forest, coral reef cave and other landscapes inside. The scenery is rough and primitive, without any artificial color.

·Four treasures of Penghu

Aragonite, coral, sea tree and MaoGong stone are known as the four treasures of Penghu.

Aragonite is a unique beautiful ore in Penghu, which is produced by chemical changes of various minerals under special temperature and pressure. Growing in basalt crevices, only Penghu and Sicily in the world produce aragonite. Although Sicily is rich in aragonite, its quality is inferior to that of Penghu.
