Zoucheng martyrs cemetery
Zoucheng martyrs cemetery was built in 1955. It was originally located outside the South Gate of the old county. On September 25, 1993, it was moved to the current site. The cemetery is located in the east of Gangshan mountain, facing the South and north of Yishan mountain. It is adjacent to national highway 104 in the East and Sports Park in the south, covering an area of 164 mu. It adopts the symmetrical layout of national central axis, with a semicircular green lawn with a diameter of 80 meters inside. There are martyrs exhibition hall and Revolutionary Martyrs Monument in the park, and the western hill of the monument is the martyrs tomb area.
A total of 823 martyrs were buried in the tombs of revolutionary martyrs, including 240 martyrs who died in the Anti Japanese War, 408 martyrs who died in the revolutionary war and 165 martyrs who died in the peace construction period. The martyrs buried in the whole cemetery area were relocated according to the original cemetery tombs, with a total of 550 new tombs and gravestones engraved.
The monument to the revolutionary martyrs is one of the three main buildings in the cemetery. The monument stands at the highest point of the cemetery. It is a traditional national monument. The body and base of the monument are covered with general red granite. On the front of the monument is engraved with eight gold-plated characters of "the revolutionary martyrs will live forever" written by Comrade Song Ping himself. On the back is engraved with 231 characters written by the municipal Party committee and the municipal government, recording the lives of Zoucheng people In the history of revolutionary struggle under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, there are 6-meter-long and 1.4-meter-high Han white jade reliefs around the monument. The whole set of reliefs is 24 meters long. The picture is magnificent, with many figures and fine carving. The double-layer Xumi platform is 144 meters long and 1.5 meters high, with 1.3-meter-high Han white jade railings. The whole monument is red and white. The height difference between the square and the base is 33 meters. The whole monument rises in the air, and the village is very beautiful Serious.
The revolutionary martyrs memorial hall was built on the Tomb Sweeping Day in 1995. It displays the moving deeds of the martyrs who died for the country during the early Zoucheng party organization construction and the Anti Japanese War, the liberation war and the peace construction period. The exhibition hall is rich in pictures and texts, with 78 pictures and more than 200 relics of the martyrs.
The heroic achievements of the martyrs will be passed on forever.
