Danxi town is located in the middle of Yueqing City, adjacent to Hongqiao Town in the East, Shifan street in the south, Nanxi River in Yongjia in the West and Furong Town in the north, with a total area of 85.44 square kilometers (2017). It has jurisdiction over six communities and 43 administrative villages, including Hubian, Xibei, Xinan, Donglong, Sidu and zuoyuan, with 52678 people (2017). The town has 12600 mu of arable land and 97000 mu of forest land, with a forest coverage rate of 75%. With a storage capacity of 40.8 million cubic meters, Danxi reservoir is the main water source protection area for Yueqing municipal water supply, with a daily water supply of 100000 tons, providing domestic water for nearly 400000 people in Yueqing City and Hongqiao Town. The primary industry of Danxi town is dominated by rice, red bayberry, Dendrobium officinale and pig breeding; the secondary industry is dominated by electronic processing; and the tertiary industry is dominated by ecological and cultural tourism. Danxi not only has beautiful natural scenery, but also breeds historical celebrities, Wang Shipeng, one of the number one scholars in the Southern Song Dynasty and wengjuan, one of the four spirits in Yongjia. It is a town under the jurisdiction of Yueqing City, Zhejiang Province, located in the middle of Yandang mountains. After the adjustment of Yueqing District in 2011, xindanxi town was merged from the former Danxi town and the former Sidu Township, with 43 administrative villages, covering an area of 85.44 square kilometers (2017) and a population of 52678 (2017). History of construction

In 1949, it was divided into Danxi Township and Sidu township. In 1950, it was divided into two townships: Danxi Township and Xigang township. In 1956, Sidu township was merged into Danxi Township, and in the same year, Sidu township was separated from Danxi township. In 1958, it belonged to Hongqiao commune. The former two townships of Danxi and Xigang were the Danxi management area, and the former Sidu township was the Sidu management area. In 1961, it became Danxi commune and Sidu commune. In 1982, it was divided into Donglong commune. In 1984, it was changed into Danxi Township, Donglong Township and Sidu township. In 1992, Donglong township was merged into Danxi township.

In 1996, Danxi Township covers an area of 43.1 square kilometers and has a population of 29000. It has 28 administrative divisions, including qiaowai, Qiaodi, jingjiashan, Longtan, jiejie, shilongtou, Gushan, Changqing, Maolong, huangtang, Xishan, Pingyao, Tantou, Longchuan, ma'ao, Sixi, xiabuzhai, donggaoqiao, sunjialong, Li'ao, Xilin, Donglong, Tianyan, longshunkeng, chiyankeng, Daitou, Xihu and shangwu'ao Sidu Township covers an area of 41.4 square kilometers and has a population of 14000. It governs 15 administrative villages including Meixi, shijiaolong, ding'ao, jiang'ao, Yangchuan, shuangjianfeng, Meiao, Lingxia, Nishan, Baiyan, ZHANGAO, chentan, Long'ao, Manao and Zuoxi.

On November 21, 1996, the Department of civil affairs of Zhejiang Province approved the removal of Danxi township to build a town. At the end of 2008, Danxi Town, with an area of 43.12 square kilometers and a population of 26200, has jurisdiction over a residential area and ma'ao, Xilin, Tantou, Li'ao, Qiaodi, qiaowai, xiabuzhai, sunjialong, Longchuan, Sixi, donggaoqiao, Xishan, Pingyao, huangtang, Maolong, gache, jiejie, Longtan, Changqing, shilongtou, jingjiashan, Xihu, longshunkeng, shangwu'ao, Donglong, chiyankeng Sidu Township covers an area of 41.42 square kilometers and has a population of 15000. It governs 15 administrative villages including Yangchuan, Meixi, dingao, Meiao, Baiyan, ZHANGAO, chentan, cuan'ao, shuangjianfeng, shijiaolong, Jiangao, Lingxia, Nishan, Manao and Zuoxi. In May 2011, the system of Sidu township was abolished, and its administrative region was merged into Danxi town. After the adjustment, Danxi town has jurisdiction over one residential area and 43 administrative villages, covering an area of 85.6 square kilometers.
