Longji terrace

Longji terrace refers to the terrace developed on Longji mountain, which is called Longsheng terrace in broad sense and Longji terrace in narrow sense. It is located in Longji mountain, Ping'an Village, Longji Town, Longsheng Autonomous County, Guangxi, 22 kilometers away from the county. It is 80 km away from Guilin City, between 109 ° 32 'e ~ 110 ° 14' n and 25 ° 35 'N ~ 26 ° 17' n. Longji terraces are divided into Jinkeng (Dazhai) Yao terraces scenic area and Ping'an Zhuang terraces scenic area. Longji terraces, usually refers to the Pingan Zhuang terraces in Longji, which are also the early developed terraces. They are distributed between 300m and 1100m above sea level, with a maximum slope of 50 degrees. Almost all the way to the terraces is the mountain road, which rises to more than 600m above sea level, and 880m to the terraces.

On April 19, 2018, rice terraces in southern China (including Longsheng Longji terraces in Guangxi, Youxi United terraces in Fujian, Chongyi Hakka terraces in Jiangxi and Ziquejie terraces in Xinhua in Hunan) were officially awarded the world's important agricultural cultural heritage at the Fifth International Forum on global important agricultural cultural heritage.

Historical evolution

The original cultivated japonica rice appeared in the Nanling mountains of Longsheng from 6000 to 12000 years ago, which is one of the cradles of cultivated rice in the world. During the Qin and Han Dynasties, terraced farming had been formed in Longsheng. In Tang and Song Dynasties, Longsheng terraces were developed on a large scale, and in Ming and Qing Dynasties, they basically reached the existing scale. Longsheng terrace has a history of at least 2300 years, which can be called the world's terraced hometown.

Features of scenic spots

Terraces, like chains and belts, encircle peaks into giant snails. Some of them are folded like giant fans and folded obliquely into long and narrow fans. Some of them are segmented like sky mirrors and inlaid into pieces of various shapes. In this vast square enclosure, the paths meander leisurely in the ups and downs of terraces, floating into a string, while the Zhuang folk songs of Longji hover over it, misty into wisps of clouds; the Zhuang "Malan" which are reflected by the water and swept by the clouds, are ethereal into fairy palaces.

Terraces are everywhere, but it is rare to have such large-scale concentration as Longji terraces. Terraces have been set up in all places where there is soil, from the river valley with fast flowing water to the mountain top surrounded by white clouds, from the forest edge with verdant trees to the front of the cliff. The vertical height is five or six li, and the horizontal extension is five or six li. The undulating and towering mountains are like a ladder to the blue sky, like huge abstract paintings between the sky and the earth.

It reminds people that these terraces are like ribbons falling from the sky. Jinkeng terraces also have pictographic beauty. Some hills are covered with circles of terraces along the shape of the mountain, like pagodas, which enhances the beauty of the countryside. Some terraces are like eagles spreading their wings. Some terraces are like seven stars accompanying the moon. Some terraces are typical trapezoidal patterns, and some are lace fields. Jinkeng terraces have a sense of hierarchy. Due to the steep terrain of Jinkeng, there are many terraces in the form of belts, with many high and low levels and rich near and far levels. Then there is the musical beauty of Jinkeng terraces, which is reflected in the rhythm and rhythm of terraces.

Today, when you enter the Yao village, you can often see some farmers take the initiative to build roads and bridges, regardless of their remuneration. People all respect and love the old people. There are No.1 and No.2 scenic spots in Longji terrace. No.1 scenic spot is far above the east side of the village. Number two is relatively close. 1, the 2 scenic spots are connected with each other. Two places can see the "Seven Star companion moon" in the most famous Longji terrace. The Seven Star companion moon is the essence of Longji terraced fields. It is seven terraced fields on the hilltop and a large terraced field on the top. The whole mountain is a narrow terrace, and the ridge is like a contour line. There is also a Jinkeng terrace up the Longji terrace. There are four Yao villages. It takes three to four hours to walk up from Ping'an No.1 scenic spot. The accommodation conditions are not as good as Ping'an. The scale of the terrace is slightly larger than before, and the folk customs are more honest. There is a large-scale terrace group in Longji Town, Southeast of Longsheng County.

There are Zhuang and Yao nationalities living in Longji terrace scenic area, mainly Zhuang nationality. The Zhuang Nationality in Longji is the representative of northern Zhuang nationality, with unique costumes and customs. Here you can see the simple Zhuang folk dance and perfect Zhuang costumes. Longji terrace is just a general designation of scenic spots, including Longji Village (Zhuang), Ping'an Village (Zhuang), Zhongliu Village (Yao), Dazhai Village (Yao), Tiantou Village (Yao), Xiaozhai (Yao), etc. As for the terraces themselves, the most spectacular are the Jinkeng terraces in Dazhai and the nearby Xiaozhai terraces. Most of the titles of CCTV-12 and the publicity pictures and film works of Longji terraces are from Jinkeng terraces. The seven stars accompanying the moon in Ping'an Village is also very good, which is usually called the Dragon Ridge Terrace. Generally speaking, there are three entrances to Longji terrace, one is Ping'an Village, one is Dazhai village, and the other is Longji Village (Longji ancient Zhuang Village).

Longji terraces include Pingan Beizhuang terraces and Jinkeng Hongyao terraces. The two terraces are both slashed and carved, which are both magnificent and elegant. Because of the different mountains, there are two different poetic and painting scenes. The two cultures, one in the South and the other in the north, make up the two cultural spaces of Beizhuang and Hongyao respectively.

Ping'an terraces across Ping'an and Longji administrative villages, just like a moving dragon, leaping over a four or five mile long slope, leaping out a powerful wild force. There are two unique landscapes in Ping'an terrace, namely "five tigers in Kowloon" and "seven stars accompanying the moon". "Jiulong" refers to the nine ridges separated from the main vein of the Dragon Ridge, and "Wuhu" refers to the five slightly raised hills. "Jiulong" and "Wuhu" are all surrounded by terraces. "Seven stars" refers to the seven buns left at the beginning of the day. The seven buns are stacked in the center of the seven fields. From a distance, they look like seven twinkling stars, guarding the curved moon field of Dragon Ridge. Because of the existence of "Jiulong five tigers" and "seven stars accompanied by the moon", Ping'an terraced fields are like broom fields, which add a lot of interest and meaning.

Jinkeng Hongyao terrace

From the erlongqiao parking lot to the left, it leads to Ping'an Zhuang terraces, and to the right, it leads to Jinkeng Dazhai Hongyao terraces. It has a maximum altitude of 1180 meters and a minimum altitude of 880 meters.

Jinkeng. Dazhai Hongyao terrace is surrounded by mountains, just like a natural Tiankeng. The ancestors of Jinkeng Hongyao migrated from Dongting and Wuxi in Hunan Province, which brought the advanced technology of rice cultivation. Today, the field in front of Dazhai village school is the place where Hongyao ancestors first cultivated and harvested, and it is the ancestor field of Jinkeng. Life and art are so interlinked. The ancestors of Longji's mountain building did not expect that the terraces they created with their sweat and blood turned out to be a great masterpiece of art, and the terraces turned into a charming and natural curvilinear world.

Jinkeng Dazhai Hongyao terrace has three scenic spots: Xishan shaole, Dajie Qianceng TIANTI and Jinfo Ding. Three landscape points constitute a paradise far away from the secular world. You can see that the terraces are like stairs, and the cloud is like a ladder to the sky. In shaole scenic spot of Xishan, you can see Maoer Mountain in Xing'an and fupingbao, the highest peak of 1918 meters in Longji scenic spot of Longsheng County. You can see the terraced landscape of 40-50 square kilometers in Kefu.
