Chishan Mingshen
The statue of Chishan Mingshen is 58.8 meters high in Chishan scenic spot of Weihai Stone Island. It is the largest bronze statue in the world and the first sea god in China - Chishan Mingshen. It stands on the mountain and faces the sea and protects all sides.
Life
Chishan Mingshen is also called Chishan Shen. It is said that Mingshen originally came from Hongmen cave in Chishan. Chishan mingshenwei is the God of northern China. It has boundless legal power, protects the countryside, blesses thousands of people, and has boundless merits. The king of Qin was in charge of the six states. In 219 B.C., he toured Chengshan in the East for the medicine of immortality. When he was seriously ill, Lisi prayed to Mingshen that he would be all right. In the third year of emperor Wenzong of Tang Dynasty (838), Yuanren (Master cijue), the third leader of Tiantai Sect in Japan, sent an envoy to Tang Dynasty to seek Dharma for several years, and visited Chishan three times. On his way home, he suffered many calamities in the sea. Fortunately, he showed his spirit and saved hundreds of classics. After Yuanren returned to his country, he worshipped the Ming God of Chishan as the God of Tiantai Sect's protection. Following his last wish, Anhui of the same clan built a temple in Kyoto, named "Chishan Buddhist temple". Later, Chishan Ming God was gradually worshipped in Japan and other countries, even in Persia, Dashi and other regions. Up to now, temples in Japan and South Korea still offer sacrifices to akayama Mingshen to bless the world and save the people.
Stories and legends
There are many stories about the supernatural power, merits and virtues of the Ming God in Chishan
First, Chishan Mingshen has boundless magic power, which can summon souls, bring the dead back to life, and add blessings and longevity to his dying days. His breath of immortal Qi and the soil under his feet can save people's lives. It is said that in 219 BC, the 28th year of the reign of emperor Yingzheng, the first emperor of Qin toured Chengshan to seek the medicine for immortality. When he was seriously ill on the way, the Prime Minister Li Si Feima paid homage to Mingshen in Chishan and obtained nine pinch of clay in front of Hongmen cave. Only by doing so could he save the first emperor's life. Later, the spirits of the ancient northern nobles had to ask the Ming God of Chishan to protect them, hoping that the Ming God could help them recover from the dead, eliminate their sins and relieve their suffering. Even if they could not, they also hoped to be able to benefit their descendants and families. Later, due to the prosperity of Mount Tai, I don't know when "soul back to Chishan" gradually evolved into "soul back to Mount Tai". However, clear marks can be found in Japanese historical records and literary works.
The second is that Chishan Mingshen has great powers, which can calm the waves, eliminate danger and save misfortune, and solve the collapse under the storm. He saved countless people at sea, one of the most famous is Yuanren. In the first year of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty (847 A.D.), master Yuanren, a Japanese monk who came to seek Dharma in Tang Dynasty, crossed the sea from chishanpu (now Weihai Rongcheng Shidao Bay) to return to his country. When he was in danger, chishanmingshen appeared to practice Dharma, calmed down the wind and waves, and Yuanren and his party were able to return home smoothly. After his death, his disciples built the Chishan Buddhist temple in accordance with his will to worship the akayama Daming God. From then on, the akayama Daming God went deep into Japanese society from the royal family to the folk, and became the protector of Japanese people's life and property and the Dharma protector of Japanese Buddhism Tiantai Sect. This Buddhist temple later became one of the seven ancient temples in the capital of Japan.
Third, Chishan Mingshen is eager for justice and good will. He can help the weak out of difficulties, recruit wealth, and give good fortune in times of distress. According to legend, there are eighteen gold foils and countless treasures in the Red Gate cave, the mansion of Mingshen. One gold foil is worth half of Shandong's, and all the millet on the stone roller is gold beads. Many of the people who are related to Mingshen, from cowherd, monk, boatman to general, are favored by Mingshen. Especially in the Tang Dynasty, Zhang baogao, a native of Silla (today's South Korea), joined the army in the Tang Dynasty and became famous. Later, he left his army for business. Under the protection of Chishan Mingshen, he successfully carried out maritime trade among China, South Korea and Japan and became the "king of maritime trade" who was powerful in East Asia, powerful in Silla and rich in the enemy countries. Since then, merchants and merchants have been worshipping Chishan Mingshen, marshal Zhao Gong and Emperor Guan Sheng as the God of wealth.
There are many different opinions about the origin of Ming God, which adds a mysterious color to the sacred nature of Ming God. Unlike other gods, he has a variety of legends, each of which has its own reason and myth pedigree, among which three are the most famous.
There is a saying that Chishan Mingshen is Daming God, the incarnation of Rihua Jun in Chishan. He is the local god and sea god in charge of the East China Sea. He is the protector of the ancient northern China. He shoulders the responsibility of protecting the coastal residents' peace, health and happiness. Its influence can be traced back to the history. It had deep and wide influence in the Han Dynasty and spread to Japan and Silla (today's Korea) in the Tang Dynasty. In Japan, it has evolved into the "auxiliary star" in the celestial world, that is, the God of fortune, fortune and longevity, which can bring people wealth, wisdom and longevity. In the world, it is called "Taishan Fu Jun", the ancestor god of yin and Yang, who is in charge of the life and death and destiny of all things in the world. In Silla, he became the God of Silla, the God of sea and the God of wealth in South Korea, and the God who had a relationship with Zhang baogao.
The second view is that akayama Mingshen is Wang Wuji in the list of gods. Wang Wuji was originally a woodcutter. He was sentenced to death for killing Wang Xiang by mistake. Later, he was rescued by Jiang Ziya and accepted as a disciple. Wang Wuji concentrated on learning magic tactics from Jiang Ziya. Soon, his skill and realm were greatly improved. One day, King Wen went hunting and met Wang Wuji on his way. Wang Wuji introduced Jiang Ziya to King Wen. Later, he followed the king of Wu to subdue Zhou and became a brave pioneer. He made great contributions to the great cause of subduing Zhou. After Wang Wuji's death, his soul was sent to Chishan and granted the title of Chishan Mingshen. From then on, he visited the mountains and the sea, and blessed the safety of the people of China, Japan and South Korea.
The third view comes from the novel "Chishan Mingshen Lu", which holds that Chishan Mingshen is the son of the sun god. He lives alone in the Red Gate cave of Chishan and lives on hunting. Later, when he met with the red sandalwood sect, Hu didn't return. He worshipped him as a teacher and then embarked on a long road of cultivation. He fought against sea monsters, ghosts and demons, and saved countless lives in the world. He made Hu bugui and lvyao, Ruhua and Xiaojiang, Chutian and Hanyan a happy marriage. He had many adventures and had an extraordinary fate. After several stages, such as gas refining period, valley opening period, light opening period, fusion period, Yuanying period, distraction period and combination period, he finally passed through the nine calamities and rose to the great Luo Jinxian, becoming the famous Chishan Mingshen.
The above three views are quite different. The first one is that Chishan Mingshen is directly endowed with noble birth, that is, he is a great God, who can handle all affairs without any cultivation and effort, with a distinctive color of ultimate worship. The second one is that Chishan Mingshen is endowed with a solid historical basis by the list of gods, which makes his origin and development clearer, Similar to the worship of Lin Mo Niang, the goddess of the sea, the third theory not only gives Chishan Mingshen a noble birth, but also describes his growing experience in detail, which makes Mingshen have a high degree of divinity. However, no matter how different the above three views are, the results are the same. They all tell the same great God, akayama. The rich mythological pedigree of Mingshen makes it more complicated and more powerful.
Due to its historical and cultural origins, as well as international peace, friendship, trade and cultural exchanges, akayama is also endowed with a new era of international color, known as the God of world peace and friendship, especially widely recognized by the people of China, Japan and South Korea.
In order to commemorate Chishan God and bring more happiness to people, a 58.8-meter-high statue of Chishan God has been built in Chishan scenic area of Weihai Stone Island. It is the first statue of the sea god in China and the largest bronze statue in the world. Far away from the small city of Shidao, people can see his solemn figure, standing on the mountain, overlooking the sea, touching the hands, listening to the waves and looking at the sky. Throughout the year, many Chinese, Japanese and Korean tourists travel thousands of miles to Chishan to worship the Ming God. They pray for peace, wealth, health, love, smooth sailing, happy life and world peace and prosperity in front of the statue of the Ming God.
Chishan Mingshen is worthy of being a great God who blesses the whole world and enjoys eternal glory!
