Huaisu park is located in middle Xiaoxiang Road, Lingling district. Because huaisu, a great calligrapher of Tang Dynasty, studied calligraphy with banana leaves instead of paper, his cursive script is famous all over the world, so the park is named huaisu.

Introduction to huaisu Park

In order to commemorate huaisu, the park integrates the natural landscape and cultural landscape. With an investment of 15 million yuan, it has gradually restored such places of interest as zuishenglou, shuchan jingshe, Zhongjiao Pavilion, xueshuting, Bizhong and Mochi, and built a comprehensive park with rich cultural connotation. It is planned to invest 2.8 million yuan in the construction of huaisu cursive art stele forest, huaisu statue, exhibition hall of huaisu's life and couplet plaque. The project has been approved. In 1992, China Calligraphers Association, Hunan Calligraphers Association and Yongzhou City (now changed to Lingling district) jointly held the 92 'huaisu Calligraphy Seminar and the exhibition of cursive calligraphy works, which received more than 5000 pieces of contributions and works from calligraphy lovers from all over the world, and 224 pieces were selected for the exhibition. Cheng Siyuan, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, wrote an inscription on "carrying forward the excellent national culture and inheriting the art of huaisu's cursive script". Calligraphy masters such as PU Chu, Shen Peng, Liu Yi, Wang Jingfen and Yan Jialong left ink marks here.

Introduction to huaisu

Huaisu (725-785), whose name is zangzhen, was born in Lingling (see huaisu's "Madonna paste"). He was a poor family. At the age of 7, he became a monk in Shutang temple, 20 miles north of the city. Later, he moved to "Lutian Temple" outside the east gate. As a child, huaisu was fond of learning, especially calligraphy. In order to save money and practice calligraphy, he planted plantains in the open space beside the temple, and replaced paper with banana leaves. He devoted himself to imitating Wang Xizhi, Wang Xianzhi and Zhang Xu's running script and cursive script in Jin Dynasty. After a long period of intensive research and hard training, bald pen piles, buried in the mountain, known as "pen tomb". Next to a small stone pool, wash inkstone water often black, known as "ink pool.". Huaisu is a good drinker. When he is drunk, he uses it to write every time he meets the temple wall, the clothes belt and the clothes belt. When he is happy, he uses it to write. Like a sudden rain and a whirlwind, he is free and unrestrained, giving people the artistic enjoyment of leaping and jumping, running and riding. In order to make further achievements in the art of calligraphy, he traveled all the way to Chang'an, Kyoto, where he visited his teachers and friends, asked Wu Tong and Yan Zhenqing for advice and studied calligraphy, and later became famous in Beijing. Handed down from generation to generation, there are "autobiography", "Xiaocao QIANZI Wen" paper, "kushu tie", "Lun Shu tie" and so on.

The former critics of his Kuangshu inherited and developed Zhang Xu's brushwork, which is called "kuangsheng Dian" and "Dian zhangkuangsu". At that time, Li Bai and other celebrities all had poems praising huaisu's calligraphy, and many later generations learned from his cursive calligraphy. In Yongzhou, there are still ruishitie, QianZiWen and Qiuxing's eight poems.
