Huangshi cliff

Huangshi cliff is located in the north of ShuiHe Township, Taishan Mountain, Shandong Province, on the east side of buffalo and the west of lianglin village. It is one of the eight old scenic spots in Dongping. Huangshi cliff is characterized by cliffs, stone sea, strange trees, Baoquan, Taoist temple, forest of Steles, Grottoes and a line of sky. The cliff is as high as ten feet. The upper part is iron blue and the lower part is ochre yellow. It looks like a silk screen from afar. It has the charm of Yandang Mountain, which is rare in the north.

Huangshi cliff is located in the East Bank of Dongping Lake (Liangshanpo). It has magnificent natural landscape and profound history and culture. There are more than 10 sites of Taoist cultural buildings in the mountain, such as the Jade Emperor hall, luzu Pavilion and the temples. There are hundreds of relief statues and more than 20 square inscriptions in the cave. They are precious historical materials and calligraphy works, which have high value of cultural research and tourism development.

On the north side of Huangshi cliff, a huge rock is separated from the cliff body by cracks, forming a line of sky landscape. On the south side of the cliff, there is a natural cave between the cliffs, in which there are several relief statues, with different sizes and shapes, vivid and lifelike shapes. From the bottom of the cave to the foot of the mountain, there are dense vegetation, rich species, many ancient trees, strange branches, and many birds and animals. The mountains are quiet with birds singing, and the wind is surging. The ecological environment is good. According to the mountain, there are ancient buildings, such as jade emperor hall, luzu Pavilion, Bixia Yuanjun temple, general temple, etc. It was first built in the Song Dynasty and renovated in the past dynasties. By the end of the Qing Dynasty, it was famous for its vigorous fragrance and grand scale. Now most of them have been destroyed, only the ruins. On the east side of the Jade Emperor hall is a well preserved stone pavilion built during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, with square columns and cornices. There are more than 20 inscriptions of Ming and Qing Dynasties in the architectural complex. The handwriting is clear and distinguishable, which has high cultural value. There is a spring in front of the Jade Emperor's hall. It comes out of the mountain and flows into the spring pool. The spring is clear and sweet, and does not dry up all the year round. It is called "Luohan spring". There is a tablet couplet praising this place, saying: "half cliff is forever, a clear spring is forever.". Both natural scenery and cultural landscape are excellent.

Causes of cliff formation

Huangshi cliff is the nature's creation, because there are thousands of cases of Huangshi cliff, like a knife cutting axe, pointing directly at the sky, there is a moment of dumping potential, so it is called "Huangshi cliff". Under the cliff, the ancient trees are towering and the ancient temple is hidden. The spring is not smoky all the year round, and the scenery is very beautiful. According to local records, 200 years ago, the temple was magnificent, with 72 statues in the main hall. Every year, at the temple fair in early April of the ancient calendar, there are an endless stream of good men and women coming to the temple. The statues were invited to worship in the general temple. In the heyday of incense, the total number of statues worshipped in the general temple increased to more than 800. Incense was blazing day by day, and the bells and pans were singing together. Unfortunately, they had become ruins.

The cliff scenic spot is one of the shooting spots of the new TV series "Water Margin". In order to cooperate with the shooting of "Water Margin", Laohu town in Dongping has invested 220 million yuan to speed up the development and construction of Huangshi cliff scenic spot.

Huangshi cliff scenic area is located in the East Bank of Dongping Lake, which is a famous landscape integrating natural heritage and cultural heritage. In line with the principle of developing tourism resources, driving the masses to get rich, and rapidly promoting the economic development of the town, Laohu town fully cooperates with the shooting of the new TV Series Water Margin to speed up the development and construction of the scenic spot.

The total investment of Huangshi cliff scenic spot development project is 220 million yuan, covering an area of about 5000 mu. The construction of the project mainly includes the restoration of yuhuangdian temple, luzuxiange, zhongshendian, Bixia Yuanjun temple, Yaowang temple, luohanquan, Zhuangyuan cave, Liang's tombs, Liang's ancestral hall and other scenic spots; the construction of sun erniang Hotel, Taohuashan mountain village, Erlongshan mountain village, and Liangkai Memorial Hall Museum, Liang Kai painting academy, four-star Resort Villa, 100 high-end villas, 3000 mu ecological forest, cemetery.

Main attractions

The existing architectural group is an ancient architectural group of Buddhism and Taoism. In the north is the "Jade Emperor hall", in the west is the "Chunyang Pavilion", in the East is the "Luohan hall" and the bell tower, and under the bell tower is the "Luohan spring". On the Southwest cliff is the Tang Dynasty statue cave. To view the statue, you have to climb up the 30 meter high cliff before you can enter the cave. It's really not dangerous. There are 13 statues, all of which are Buddhist statues of the prosperous Tang Dynasty. The statue in the middle is sitting, plump, with ears drooping over the shoulders. It is the statue of Sakyamuni and his disciples, and the right hand Dharma protectors on both sides. Wearing armor, the statue of Dharma protector is dignified, vigorous and lifelike.

Chunyang Pavilion

"Chunyang Pavilion" is a Taoist building. Built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, the whole stone structure, especially the design of the grottoes, is very ingenious. There are wooden members between the upper and lower layers, and crenels on the parapet of the outer roof. It is the same style as Qiuzu Pavilion in Lashan, but it is a pity that it has been in disrepair for a long time and collapsed seriously.

Pavilion shaped bell tower

The only complete existing building of "Huangshi cliff" - the pavilion shaped bell tower. The bell tower is a stone structure, built in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. Its shape adopts the style of the Tang Dynasty. It is supported by four pillars and covered by huge stones. It is simple and heavy, with ingenious in clumsiness and ingenious in coarseness. It is a rare bell tower in the Southwest of Shandong Province in the Qing Dynasty.

Luohan Hall

In the hall, there are 21 iron cast Arhats, each of which is nearly 1 meter high. The casting time is the fifth year of Xuanhe in the Song Dynasty, which is the same as that of clay sculpture arhat in Lingyan temple. However, these precious statues were destroyed in the era of steel smelting. Visitors here feel sorry. One of the visitors wrote a dozen oil poems on the stone wall, saying: Luohan went to Liukong hall far away, and the visitors held the sill and sighed for themselves. Cangsong in the courtyard waved and asked, who will bear the blame for the thousand years. These little poems add a lot of reverie to us

Luohanquan

There are continuous streams of spring water, from the middle of the stone crack, it first gathered in the pool, then overflowed and went east, along the stone trough to the foot of the mountain, the spring water is sweet, relief people. Why is there such a good spring mud under such a cliff? It also starts from the legend: in the Tang Dynasty, there were temples here. However, due to the lack of water on the mountain, monks had to go to the foot of the mountain to carry water and eat. It took time and effort to go back and forth for several miles. Later, the abbot decided to dissolve the monks and choose another temple site. This event shocked 21 iron Arhats. Arhats thought that this place was a treasure land of geomantic omen and could not be abandoned They were merciful and decided to help the monks. In the dead of night, the Arhats stamped their feet in front of the hall. There was only a loud noise, and a stream of water bubbled out from the crevice of the stone. Later, people named the spring "arhan spring". Since huangshiya had the spring water, the temple was expanded, the number of monks increased sharply, and the incense was flourishing. In the Ming Dynasty, Buddhism and Taoism developed together here, making it an ancient temple in Dongyuan. There is a couplet in the inscription beside the spring, which says: "the yellow cliff on the half of the cliff stands out forever, and a clear spring stands up for thousands of years." The essence of the "Huangshi cliff" scenic spot is summarized and vividly illustrated.

There are 21 existing inscriptions in the "Huangshi cliff" scene, most of which are reconstructed. One of the steles is the most eye-catching. Established in the Qing Dynasty, it is a ban issued by the officials of Dongping prefecture to protect the ancient art of the scenic spot of "Huangshi cliff". In the ban, punishment clauses were formulated for cutting firewood and destroying trees in the scenic spot of "Huangshi cliff". After the ban was issued, it played a role in protecting the ancient relics and trees in the scenic spot of "Huangshi cliff". This is the physical evidence for the protection of cultural relics and historical sites and scenic spots by predecessors. It is a rare historical material and a model for modern people to follow.

Thin strip of sky

Among the beautiful scenic spots of "Huangshi cliff", the most eye-catching one is "a line of sky". Looking from the bottom up, the huge rock in the south is called "Bergamot". There is a gap between it and the mountain. From the gap, you can see a line of sky, which is magnificent. Visitors can pull the "Buddha sleeve" from the bottom, climb up the "Bergamot" and climb up the line of sky along their arms. They feel more magnanimous and confident The feeling of "wanting to compare with heaven".

There is a cliff gap on the top right of "Huangshi cliff", which is very steep. Climbing up the top of the cliff and going south, you can reach "canwei". There is a huge stone platform on canwei. Standing on the platform, you can have a bird's-eye view of the beautiful scenery of Dongping Lake. No wonder poet Wang Shizhen of the Qing Dynasty wrote "canwei collection" after touring canwei mountain to express his feelings about the beautiful water of Dongping famous mountain I miss you so much.
