Chibian building

Chibianlou, a famous historical building in Sichuan, is located in Xuecheng town on the Bank of Zagunao River in Lixian County, Sichuan Province. It was built in 830 ad (the first year of Taihe of Tang Wenzong).

Historical evolution

At that time, there were frequent wars on the border between the Tang Dynasty and Tubo. Li Deyu, who was then the governor of Xichuan in Jiannan, built a "building for preparing for the war", encouraging morale and raising money for the border affairs. Li Deyu has a strategic vision and pays attention to struggle strategy. He does not regard this building as a military fortress, but as a place of communication to mingle with the leaders of ethnic minorities. Therefore, during his two years in office, Tang Dynasty and Tubo lived in peace in Western Sichuan, making great contributions to the harmony and tranquility of the border. Because of this, Xue Tao, a poetess of the Tang Dynasty, once came here and left behind a famous poem that has been passed down for thousands of years: "in the autumn of eight windows, the clouds and birds are in peace, and the forty prefectures of Xichuan are strong. The generals should not be greedy for the horses of the Qiang nationality. They can see the edge at the highest level. " If the building is not high, it will be famous if there are poems. Therefore, it is famous all over the world.

In modern history, in 1935, the Fourth Front Army of the Chinese workers' and peasants' Red Army established the Soviet Area in the Zagunao River Basin, which was "far away from the emperor". The Fourth Front Army of the Red Army once decided to set out on the edge of the building. From there, they went over snow mountains and grasslands to spread the revolutionary fire to the whole country.

As a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit, it was destroyed in the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1662-1722). The existing building was built in the reign of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty (1736-1795). Due to years of wind and rain, there is a danger of collapse. In 2005, Sichuan Province, Aba Prefecture and Li county invested 270000 yuan to carry out the protective restoration of the Chibian building in accordance with the principle of "repairing the old as before, maintaining the original appearance and ensuring the safety", making it a beautiful landscape in the Baili Tibetan and Qiang cultural corridor of Aba Prefecture.

Chibian building is located on the top of a huge stone in Xuecheng primary school, Xuecheng Town, Lixian County. The building is a square, two-story, double eaves and Xieshan style wooden structure building, with a height of 18 meters. The ground floor is square, with a side length of 7.38 meters and a height of 4.43 meters. There are 12 outer columns and 4 inner columns, which divide the space into three deep rooms and three wide rooms. The inner and outer columns are square, the four edges are curved, and the square xumizuo stone column foundation. Stone railings are built outside the building. The stone railings, piles and bars are all square. The top of the column is xumizuo with lotus petals and stone beads on it. The second floor is 3.60 meters high, with a square hall in the middle and a side length of 3.64 meters. All the walls around and the Watchboard on the top are painted with various figures and stories. Most of the stories are about Li Deyu's side planning, such as discussing military affairs, practicing soldiers and mountain terrain. There are three large square windows on all sides of the hall, and there is a wooden fence outside the hall. Looking from the fence, you can see the green hills are like Dai, the scenery is like painting, the wind blows the painting, and the feeling of thinking about the past can not help but make people cry. The Chibian building is not only a historical witness of the confrontation between Tang and Tibet, but also a symbol of the local people's aversion to war and love for peace.
