The French naval barracks are located at 142, the marble Hill Road, Nan'an District, Chongqing. It is a Chinese and Western style architecture with a medieval castle style built in 1902 by the commander of the French Far East fleet, Porter, the governor of Indochina, and 100 thousand of the franc donated by the governor of Indochina.
It is a courtyard building with inner court and cloister, with a building area of 1600 square meters, imitating the architectural style of the century old Fort naval camp and European medieval castle style. Architectural style can be said to be a combination of Chinese and western, western style arched colonnade, coupled with traditional Chinese architecture, sculpture art, both historical massiness and artistic freshness. The French naval barracks have a history of 100 years. At that time, the French naval barracks were the control station and material supply station on the Yangtze River, which were responsible for the water police task on the Yangtze River waterway. After the revolution of 1911, the French naval barracks were gradually used as the French Consulate in Chongqing. This historic building is an important witness of Chongqing's opening up as a port. In September 2000, it was identified as a municipal cultural relic protection unit in Chongqing.

French naval barracks retain the original style of medieval castle in Europe, which is a white building with inner court and cloister. The attic is surrounded by traditional Chinese sculpture, archaic roman columns and Gothic arched colonnades.
