Yangtze River cableway

Yangtse River cableway, located in Chongqing, China, is the second river crossing cableway in Chongqing (the first one is Jialing River cableway (demolished)). It has been running for more than 30 years and is known as "the first air corridor of Wanli Yangtze River" and "mountain city air bus".

Yangtze River ropeway is a large-scale cross river passenger ropeway designed and manufactured by China, with a total length of 1166 meters. It connects Yuzhong District and Nan'an District of Chongqing, and runs between Xinhua Road (rail transit xiaoshizi station) in Yuzhong District and Shangxin street in Nan'an District. The speed is 6 m / s, the running time is 4 minutes, and the daily passenger volume is 10500.

In February 2020, in order to pay tribute to the medical workers struggling in the front line of anti epidemic, the Yangtze River ropeway will implement the free visit policy for all medical workers in the country from the date of resumption of operation to December 31, 2020.

Historical evolution

On January 1, 1982, Chongqing Jialing River passenger ropeway, the first urban cross river passenger ropeway in China, was completed and put into trial operation.

On October 24, 1987, the Yangtze River ropeway was put into operation. The total length of the cableway is 1166 meters, connecting Yuzhong District and Nan'an District. At that time, the color of cableway car was beige.

In September 2005, the car of Changjiang ropeway was replaced. The color of the car is bright red, and the strength of the car body is five times higher than before.

In July 2011, the appearance coating of the Yangtze River ropeway was changed. The car color returned to beige, and led night lighting was installed on the car for the first time, adding night landscape to the Yangtze River cableway.

At the beginning of 2013, recommended by Chongqing Tourism Bureau and Yuzhong District Tourism Bureau, Chongqing Yangtze River cableway and Jialing West Village are the "vanguards" of scenic spots, preparing to create a national 3A scenic spot, boosting the construction of "Chongqing beautiful landscape city". On November 5 of the same year, Chongqing Yangtze River ropeway scenic spot officially passed the acceptance of the scenic spot evaluation team, becoming another national 3A scenic spot in Chongqing.

On April 9, 2016, Chongqing cableway company announced that Chongqing Yangtze River cableway would be shut down from April 18 for annual maintenance.

In July of the same year, the appearance coating of the Yangtze River ropeway was replaced again. The color of the car changes to orange, which echoes with the adjacent dongshuimen bridge.

Since October 22, 2018, Chongqing Yangtze River ropeway has been suspended for annual inspection and maintenance, and resumed normal operation on October 27;

Since November of the same year, the real name system has been implemented on the Yangtze River ropeway, and passengers need to hold identity documents to make an appointment at the beginning and end of the Yangtze River ropeway before buying tickets.

From November 25, 2019, according to the annual work plan, Chongqing Yangtze River cableway will be shut down for maintenance, annual equipment maintenance and car replacement;

On December 22 of the same year, the Yangtze River cableway resumed operation, and the new generation cableway car was put into operation.
