Lu house, located in the east of Dongyang City, stands on Bijia mountain in the South and Dongyang River in the north. For more than 800 years, from site selection to building group, it has been organically combined with the natural environment to build a large-scale hall house. It is a famous ancient building group of Ming and Qing Dynasties in South China. In January 1988, the State Council announced it as the third batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
Historical evolution
The development of Lu's ancient buildings is closely related to the political, economic and cultural prosperity of his family. In the five hundred years since Lu Ruideng became a Jinshi in Yongle period of Ming Dynasty, 29 candidates were selected in the local examination, including two Jieyuan candidates, eight palace candidates and more than 150 people involved in the imperial examination. It can be said that Lu Ruideng, a member of the five classics and a member of the Imperial Academy, has been promoted both in culture and martial arts, and is known as a famous family in Wuzhou. At the end of Ming and Qing Dynasties, there were more than 60 large hall houses, such as Suyong hall, Shude hall, Fujing hall, Jiahui hall, and more than 20 stone arches, such as Jieyuan, Duxian, Zhushi, Zhongzhi famous officials, Fengji aristocratic family, and more than 40 garden attractions, Academy Villas, temples and Taoist temples. In particular, the Yuangui branch, "three peaks stand to the south, and two rivers ring to the north". Within the area surrounded by Yaxi River, with Suyong hall as the main body, more than ten vertical and horizontal streets and alleys were arranged, which were divided into several sections according to the branches of the clan. According to the grade of the official forest, halls and houses were built respectively Since the completion of a complete and closed group of buildings with clear axes, seven vertical axes have been gradually formed, such as dafudi, shijinshi, zhushidi, Hanlin, etc. Among them, the longitudinal axis of Suyong hall is 320 meters long, covering an area of 6500 square meters, with nine courtyards and 125 halls. In terms of function, the Shikumen in front of the fifth entrance to leshoutang is divided into two areas according to the traditional pattern of front hall and back bedroom. The first four entrances, with Suyong hall as the core, are solemnly decorated and magnificent. They are places for people to worship heaven and ancestors, auspicious celebrations, welcome guests and clan meetings. In the latter five dynasties, Shiyong hall was the center, with its gate, hall and hall as branches, red and white auspicious public, and the big houses and the two side chambers were all family houses. The whole group is a materialized illustration of the traditional moral and patriarchal concepts of the feudal literati.
Construction scale
Lu house surrounded by Yaxi is distributed with a number of residential buildings composed of North-South longitudinal axis. There are thousands of houses, with Suyong hall as the core. The axis of Suyong hall is the main building. There are more than 20 existing buildings from Jingtai of Ming Dynasty to the early Republic of China, which are concentrated on both sides of the axis of Suyong hall. The axis of Suyong hall has nine entrances: Jiebao gate, Guoguang gate, hall of Suyong hall, Suyong main hall, Leshou hall, Shiyong gate tower, Shiyong hall, middle hall and back building. East Side: in front of it, there are the axis of West Germany Hall (four entrances of Xiangyu hall, Jiahui hall, West Germany back hall and West Germany upper Hall), the axis of Shude Hall (three entrances of Shude front hall, middle hall and back building), and the East chanting Hall of dafudi. Back hall axis (now Shanqing hall and xiangxu Hall), AI RI hall. West side: Cunyi hall adjacent to Yimen and shijinshi Zhongxiao hall parallel to it. Facing the street in the south, there are East and West lotus Pavilion academy and ice jade hall, covering an area of 25000 square meters.
