Funiu Mountain World Geopark in Nanyang, China is located in the core area of the eastern Qinling orogenic belt of the central mountain system. The park is integrated on the basis of Baotianman National Geopark, Nanyang dinosaur egg fossil group National Nature Reserve, Baotianman National Forest Park and World Biosphere Reserve, Funiushan National Geopark and Nanyang dushanyu National Mining Park.
In June 2006, the park was listed as a World Geopark by UNESCO. It is under the jurisdiction of Nanyang City, Henan Province, an excellent tourist city in China. Its administrative divisions span Xixia, Neixiang, Zhenping, Xichuan, Nanzhao, Fangcheng and other counties of Nanyang city.
Nanyang Funiu Mountain World Geopark is mainly composed of eight core scenic spots: China Xixia dinosaur Heritage Park, Xixia Laojieling, Xixia longtangou, Neixiang Baotianman, Qixingtan, Yunlu mountain, Zhenping wuduo mountain and zhenwuding scenic spot.

geographical environment
China Funiu Mountain World Geopark is located in the hinterland of Funiu Mountain in Henan Province, with the main body of Funiu Mountain in Xixia, Neixiang, Luanchuan, Songxian and Zhenping, covering an area of 1522 square kilometers.
Located in the eastern part of the Central Orogenic System of China, the park has experienced such geological processes as collision, amalgamation and orogeny of the north and South ancient continents in China. It is of great scientific value to study the dynamics of the composite continent in the Qinling orogenic belt.
Honors

Introduction to scenic spots
The geological relics in Funiu Mountain World Geopark in Nanyang are very rich and diverse. The main protected objects include dinosaur egg fossils, dinosaur skeleton fossils, typical stratigraphic sections containing egg fossils, important structural relics of fault suture zone in Qinling orogenic belt, boundary faults of tectonic geological blocks and related sedimentary formation relics, and oceanic crust ophiolite in small ocean basin with limited expansion of ancient Qinling ocean Debris remains, volcanic lava pillow group and stomatal rhyolite rock structure remains, karst caves, cascade waterfall group, turbulent streams, canyons and artificial river channels, high mountain and river source lakes in structural fault depression, Intermountain fault depression depressions, springs, underground rivers, large cross bedding, sequence sections of ophiolite slices, various geomorphic remains, sedimentary facies characteristics, paleoclimate characteristics, turtle and turtle Other vertebrate fossils, amber and microfossils, natural ecological environment, etc.
Geology of scenic spot
Funiu Mountain is a geological textbook for studying continental composite orogenic belt. Many geological relics are typical, representative, rare and of international significance. Funiu Mountain in Nanyang is located in the main area where Rodinia supercontinent interacts with North China plate and Yangtze plate for a long time. It is the key part of subduction, collision, convergence and uplifting orogeny of composite continental orogenic belt (Qinling orogenic belt) and the most systematic and complete area for preservation of geological relics.
The advantage of Funiu Mountain in the earth history and tectonic geology lies in the fact that it revealed the splitting and separation of the Archean primitive continental crust basement, and the sedimentary formation and metamorphism and deformation in the early Proterozoic. It summarized the response of the Central Orogenic Belt of China to the global Rodinia supercontinent event, the tectonic evolution and continental evolution under the control of regional plate tectonic dynamics system Dynamic process.
The Mashankou plate suture, Erlangping rift trough and other geological relics have witnessed the docking and collision of the North China plate and the Yangtze plate, where the crustal movement and the alternation of time are highly concentrated. Due to the long-term effect of geological tectonic movement, a series of nappes, overlaps and extensional stretches with different levels, scales and forms were formed in the contact zone between the two plates. Thanks to the elaborate creation of the "scientific giant" of the continental orogeny, Funiu Mountain, which stretches for 800 miles, stands tall and has become the backbone of China.
