Wubao ancient tombs
Located in Wubao Township, Hami City, Xinjiang, 70 kilometers away from the urban area, the ancient tombs here cover an area of about 5000 square meters. The mummy of Hami, known as "Blonde", was excavated here in 1978. 29 tombs have been excavated. The shape of the tomb is vertical hole, single burial in earth pit, and the body is bent on its side.
Three complete mummies, one male and two female, were unearthed. They were identified as 2900-3200 years ago. It is 900-1000 years earlier than the female corpse in tomb No.1 of the Han Dynasty in Mawangdui. In 1986, more than 50 ancient corpses were unearthed. At the same time, leather clothes and trousers, straw boots, woolen goods, bone ware, wood ware, pottery, bronze ware, etc. were also unearthed. There are exhibition rooms for visitors in the ancient tombs.
