History and Humanities
history
At the beginning of the Tang Dynasty, Taoist Zheng Quanfu discovered the Lingyan cave group in the third year of Kaicheng (839 A.D.), where he practiced and left a substitute ink, which was named donglingguan. In the fifth year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1136 AD), the Taoist temple was further expanded to Tongyuan temple.
Lingyan cave group is named "Lingyan", which comes from the Taoist theory of "ethereal". The place name "Tongyuan" where the cave group is located also comes from Taoist Zongyi. According to the explanation in Cihai, "Tong" means Dong, and "Yuan" means Shi, Chang, DA and Shan. Innate Qi. Taoism believes that "Yuan" is "Qi". This Qiqi was the pioneer of the world, that is, Pangu, and became the ancestor of heaven, that is, the founder of Yuanshi heaven. In order to cultivate Taoism and become immortals, the immortals on the earth live in "Dongtianfudi", that is to say, the cultivation in the cave can connect with the immortals and connect with the heaven; blessing means happiness and auspiciousness, and living in a blessed place can lead to immortality. Taoism divides the heaven and earth into ten caves and three caves
