Benxi Martyrs Memorial Hall (formerly Benxi martyrs cemetery) is located in qingshaling, Mingshan District, Benxi City, covering an area of 58600 square meters. It started construction in June 1985 and was completed and opened to the public in October 1988. Benxi martyrs memorial is located in the north and south, with its back on qingsongling and its front on benhuan highway. According to the function, it can be divided into three areas: landscape area, worship area and mausoleum area. The landscape area is mainly composed of memorial square, poetry wall, weapon garden, alarm Pavilion, donation wall and rest area. The overall design is solemn, harmonious and natural. Wandering in it will cultivate human sentiment and purify the soul.

Benxi Martyrs Memorial, formerly known as Benxi martyrs cemetery, is located in qingsongling, the eastern suburb of Benxi City, covering a total area of 60000 square meters. It is the earliest provincial and ministerial patriotism education and national defense education base in Benxi City.

Since the Anti Japanese War, more than 4000 martyrs have dedicated their precious lives in Benxi. In order to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs who died in various historical periods, the people's Government of Benxi City decided to build the Benxi martyrs' cemetery in 1985 and completed the sacrifice on October 31, 1988.
In 2003 and 2009, the state invested more than 15 million yuan to renovate and expand the memorial twice, making the museum gradually move towards the ranks of modern memorial with modern exhibition style, diversified display means and systematic educational content. In early 2009, the museum was listed by the Ministry of civil affairs as the fifth batch of key martyrs memorial building protection units in China.

Benxi martyrs memorial is located in the north and south, with its back on qingsongling and its front on benhuan highway. According to the function, it can be divided into three areas: landscape area, worship area and mausoleum area. The landscape area is mainly composed of memorial square, poetry wall, weapon garden, alarm Pavilion, donation wall and rest area. The overall design is solemn, harmonious and natural. Wandering in it will cultivate human sentiment and purify the soul. Entering the gate of the cemetery is the landscape area. There is a rectangular marble garden sign in the middle of the steps near the mountain, engraved with six characters "Benxi martyrs cemetery" inscribed by Jiang Hua. Up the stairs, suddenly entering the 6300 square meter Memorial square, the ground is flat, paved with natural granite and decorated with patterns, which can accommodate 8000 people to hold memorial activities at the same time. On the west side of the square is a wall of poems, in which there are inscriptions of national leaders with strong meaning and soul shaking, and poems of revolutionary martyrs with lofty aspirations and fearlessness, which add a strong national spirit and cultural atmosphere to the wide square.
Through the northeast side of the memorial square, an ancient pine covered and green resting area, the alarm Pavilion stands in front of us. In order to warn future generations not to forget national humiliation and national calamity, and enhance the sense of hardship. Adjacent to the rest area is the donation wall, with two walls arranged in the shape of swallow wings. It is engraved with the name of the unit that donated more than 3000 yuan for the reconstruction and expansion project of the memorial hall, the name of the individual who donated more than 300 yuan, and the name of the unit and individual who made special contributions in the reconstruction and expansion process of the memorial hall. On the west side of the memorial square is the weapons garden. There are retired aircraft, artillery, tanks and missile models on the six exhibition stands in the park.
The main part of Benxi martyrs memorial hall is the area to look forward to. Seven characters of "Benxi Martyrs Memorial Hall" are inscribed on the banner of the front door by Marshal Xu Qianqian. The memorial hall is divided into two floors, with a total exhibition area of more than 2400 square meters. The martyrs' deeds and cultural relics displayed in the museum can be divided into four parts according to historical periods: the first part is the Anti Japanese War period. From 1905 to 1945, during the 40 years of economic plunder and 14 years of military aggression, the Japanese imperialists fought against Benxi. The second part is about the war of liberation. From 1945 to 1948, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Benxi people, who were not afraid of violence, sacrifice and war, cooperated with the Northeast Democratic Alliance Army and the Kuomintang reactionaries in their tenacious struggle. The third part is about the period of socialist construction. The fourth part is about the new period of reform and opening up. In the great process of reform and opening up, Zhang Jinyin, Li Zhengyi, Xie Tongtai, sun Wenjin and other heroic deeds of the new period emerged. And the achievements of all walks of life in Benxi in the 30 years of reform and opening up.
The museum uses modern display concept and high-tech display means, with full and accurate contents and various forms. Including: 300 pictures, 8 charts, 12 oil paintings, 38 display cabinets and stands, 371 exhibits, 1 large relief, 2 electronic maps, 1 phantom image, 1 silicone figure, 6 FRP statues, 1 scene box, 2 combined scenes, 3 touch screens and infrared receiving and explaining equipment. Out of the north gate of the area, up the steps is the mausoleum area, which covers an area of 2000 square meters. The mausoleum area is mainly composed of yingminglu wall, martyr tombs and monuments. The wall of yingminglu is solemn and dignified like a flag fluttering on both sides. It is engraved with the names, dates of birth and death of 1640 martyrs. On the north side of yingminglu wall are 107 single martyrs' tombs and one anonymous martyr's tomb, with 124 martyrs' ashes.
Through the 100 meter stone steps in the center of the martyrs' tombs, the majestic and spectacular monument stands in front of us. The monument was built in October 2003 to commemorate the 55th anniversary of Benxi's liberation. The white marble reliefs on all sides of the pedestal show the spirit of the army and people in Benxi in different periods. On top of the column, a 21.7-meter-high Benxi Liberation Monument, built of granite, stands towering like a sharp sword. It symbolizes the revolutionary spirit of Benxi people who are not afraid of violence, are unyielding and fight against foreign enemies.

Since its opening, Benxi martyrs memorial hall has become a multi-faceted place for visiting, commemorating, carrying out educational activities, sightseeing and leisure. It has received more than 500000 people from all walks of life, and built a moral education base with more than 20 schools, institutions, enterprises and institutions. It has also published the first and second episodes of Benxi martyrs, collected the heroic deeds of 38 Benxi martyrs, and issued 6000 copies Many books have played a better role in patriotism and national defense education.
Benxi martyrs memorial hall has been named "patriotism education base" and "patriotism education demonstration base" by the Ministry of civil affairs and the Propaganda Department of Liaoning provincial Party committee. The provincial National Defense Education Committee and the provincial government named it "Liaoning national defense education base" in December 1998 and April 2007 respectively.
