Jingdezhen Ceramics Museum
Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum, also known as Jingdezhen China Ceramic Museum, is located at No. 1, Zijing North Road, Changjiang District, Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province. Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum is the only professional museum of ceramic art and the second-class national museum with the earliest and rich porcelain collection after the founding of new China. Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum is a professional museum of ceramic art, which was first built after the founding of the people's Republic of China. It was officially opened in January 1954, with a total area of more than 59000 square meters and a building area of 32000 square meters. On average, it receives about 100000 visitors every year.
As of January 2019, Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum has collected and displayed about 20000 pieces of famous works produced in different historical periods in Jingdezhen since the Neolithic age, including more than 500 national precious cultural relics. The exhibition contents are divided into "the Ministry of history", "the Ministry of new China" and special exhibition hall. The former displays more than 1000 pieces of ancient porcelain in the order of dynasties, while the latter displays more than 1500 pieces of ceramic treasures collected after the founding of the people's Republic of China. There are celadon and white porcelain in Five Dynasties; celadon and white porcelain in Song Dynasty; blue and white porcelain, egg white porcelain and underglaze red in Yuan Dynasty; blue and white porcelain, multicolored porcelain, doucai and glaze porcelain in Ming Dynasty; dozens of fine ceramics in Qing Dynasty. The works of modern ceramic factories, ceramic research institutes and ceramic masters are also collected.
Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum is a patriotic education base in Jiangxi Province, an advanced unit of comprehensive management of cultural system, an advanced unit of cultural relics investigation and database management system construction project in Jiangxi Province, a popular science base in Jiangxi Province, and a national popular science education base.
Historical evolution
On January 1, 1954, Jingdezhen Ceramics Museum was officially opened to the public. The original site of the museum was temporarily located in the Catholic Church at 301 Zhonghua North Road in the urban area. The name of the museum was inscribed by Guo Moruo.
In September 1955, the new building of Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum was officially completed at 21 lianshe North Road.
In August 1965, the Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum expanded 469.2 square meters on both sides of the exhibition hall, forming a whole with the main body.
In January 1974, Jingdezhen Ceramics Museum was expanded for the second time, and a three story exhibition building with a total area of 1500 square meters was built.
In 2003, Jingdezhen Municipal government began to build a new Ceramic Museum.
In 2005, the new Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum was initially completed.
On October 18, 2015, Jingdezhen China Ceramic Museum, the new museum of Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum, held the opening ceremony.

Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum covers an area of 12000 square meters, with a construction area of 4584 square meters and an exhibition area of 3194 square meters. It is divided into "the Ministry of history", "the Ministry of new China" and special exhibition hall. Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum has nine fixed exhibition rooms, four of which are ancient porcelain exhibition rooms, namely, exhibition rooms of Five Dynasties, Song Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty, exhibition rooms of Ming Dynasty, exhibition rooms of Qing Dynasty and exhibition rooms of the Republic of China; five modern porcelain exhibition rooms, namely, exhibition rooms of overglaze color porcelain, underglaze color porcelain, sculpture porcelain, high temperature color glaze and award-winning works since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee.
Exhibition hall 1
The exhibition hall consists of Five Dynasties, Song Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty. Among them, the shadow Celadon of Song Dynasty, printed porcelain, blue and white porcelain of Yuan Dynasty and high temperature color glazed porcelain are the most eye-catching.
Exhibition hall 2
The exhibition hall is mainly made of Ming Dynasty official kilns. In this period, the production and decoration techniques of official kilns mainly include blue and white, blue and white color, five colors, red and green color and color glaze.

The exhibition hall displays the most splendid Qing dynasty ceramics in the history of Jingdezhen ceramics. At this time, Jingdezhen ceramic technology focused on the ceramic technology of Ru kiln, Longquan kiln, Ge kiln and other famous kilns. Jingdezhen blue and white decoration techniques have also been further improved, the use of water division method blue and white decoration to achieve the effect of Chinese painting. Ceramic firing technology is reflected in the high temperature color glaze such as Lang Yao red, Jun red and crack glaze. Pastel decoration technology, which had a great influence on Jingdezhen modern ceramic industry, also appeared in the Qing Dynasty ceramic industry, and the pastel decoration technology reached its first peak in the late Qing Dynasty. That is to say, during this period, the trend of Jingdezhen ceramics to painting decoration was determined, which laid a solid foundation for Jingdezhen modern ceramics to occupy a place in the world ceramic industry.

The exhibition hall is a ceramic exhibition in the period of the Republic of China. This period caused a decline in the history of Jingdezhen ceramics due to many historical reasons. Only in the field of ceramic painting has the whole ceramic industry been outstanding. A group of ceramic painting artists, represented by eight friends of Zhushan, have emerged and left many excellent works.

Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum has a rich collection of cultural relics. Eight exhibition halls display the ceramic treasures of the past dynasties since the Han and Tang Dynasties. Its modern and contemporary Jingdezhen ceramic treasures are unique to the museum. Since the Neolithic age, Jingdezhen has produced about 20000 pieces of famous works in different historical periods, including more than 500 national precious cultural relics. There are more than 600 paintings and calligraphy of Ming and Qing Dynasties and contemporary times in the museum, including "eight families in Jinling" and "eight friends in Zhushan". There are more than 80 pieces of jade, gold and silver, inkstones, stone tablets, stone carvings and other miscellaneous items in the museum.

Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum organizes students to visit the museum in different forms every year to carry out popular science education, and receives students from colleges and universities to carry out scientific education practice activities. We should combine centralized activities with regular activities, strive to create characteristics, create actual results, and expand influence.
Over the years, Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum has insisted on holding special exhibitions in other cities in China for nearly 20 times. They pay attention to cooperation with state-owned museums to ensure quality, scale and safety. In addition to the important first tier cities in China, the exhibition has also set foot in such cities as Beijing, Xianyang and Hangzhou.
Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum also takes advantage of the opportunity of International Museum Day every year to publicize in communities, schools and military barracks in the form of plates, and invites military officers and soldiers, office staff and students to visit and exchange with the museum. For different levels of audience, the Ceramic Museum adopts different explanation methods, such as popular science education and ceramic knowledge education for primary and secondary school students; for experts and scholars, it explains from ceramic history, ceramic technology, ceramic appreciation and other forms; for general audience, it explains from historical allusions and other interesting contents.

From October 18 to November 10, 2015, Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum held an exhibition of Wang Bu's works.
From May 18 to July 18, 2016, Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum held an exhibition of Wang Xiliang's porcelain paintings for the 80th anniversary of his art career.
On August 29, 2016, the traditional craft project (ceramic hand molding) competition of the fourth Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo was held in Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum.
On September 14, 2016, the third China Ceramic Art Master (Jiangxi) ceramic works exhibition opened in Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum.
On October 18, 2016, on the occasion of the opening of the 2016 porcelain Expo, the opening ceremony of the export porcelain exhibition of Ming and Qing Dynasties and the exhibition of works of national famous kilns was held in Jingdezhen China Ceramic Museum.
