Historical sources
There is a story about the origin of jijiata. Ji Jiugong and Ji jiutu, two brothers, lived in the Ming Dynasty and were rich in the countryside. During the Zhengde period, floods and droughts came one after another, and the people were in dire need of livelihood. After the news was disclosed, it spread from one to ten, and from one to one hundred, hungry people from eight neighboring villages came to borrow food and money to the south of Guoyang and the north of Feihe. Three years later, the weather is not good, but the harvest is still poor, the hungry people are not covered by clothes, they can not eat enough, and they even sell their children. Jiugong and jiutu, with their eyes in their eyes and hearts in their hearts, politely declined those who came to pay back the money and grain. In the twinkling of an eye, ten years later, Ji's second Weng has reached the age of the rarest. One day, er Weng ordered his son to call more than 60 villagers as representatives of the masses and burn all the seven thick account books in public to show that he would never return them. The villagers are grateful to Jiugong and jiutu for their kindness. One by one, they raised funds to build this hexagonal and seven storey Jijia tower. The hexagonal tower means the witness of 60 villagers' representatives. The seventh floor is Yongzhi's memorial to the seven burned books.
