history
On September 27, 1932, the Japanese artillery major Hideki Watanabe and other eight people were sent to investigate the situation in Manzhouli and Hailaer on the "Bancang" airliner. When they flew back over Nianzishan, they were forced to land in wudaoliangzi gully in Gannan due to lack of fuel. Eight Japanese soldiers were killed by the local patriotic masses.
In 1935, the Japanese army invited the prime minister from China to build a tomb on this mountain within 500 miles. The monument is "the monument of loyal souls of eight scholars in bancangji". The body of the monument is carved with Venus granite, surrounded by a granite parapet with a middle iron rope, and the inscription is written on a copper plate on the north side of the monument.
On February 4, 1946, after the liberation of Nianzishan, the people removed the inscription, carved the statue of the Northeast Anti Japanese coalition soldiers on the top of the monument, engraved "northeast people's Liberation Monument" on the front of the monument, and engraved the inscription "Nianzishan people's turning over".
During the cultural revolution, the statues of Anti Japanese soldiers were destroyed. After 1976, the people's Government of Nianzishan district set up the red five stars on the top of the stele. Later, the district government decided to rebuild the whole body image of the soldiers of the Chinese people's Liberation vehicle on the top of the stele.
