Crocodile Lake is located in the old urban area of Heyuan City, Guangdong Province. Its related scenic spots include Yuanxing Pavilion, Huarong bridge, Mingfeng bridge and Mingfeng Pavilion, covering an area of 12 hectares.

Crocodile Lake is located in Heyuan City, Guangdong Province, between the upper and lower city. There are Yuanxing Pavilion, Huarong bridge, Mingfeng bridge, Mingfeng Pavilion and other attractions.

Crocodile Lake has 12 hectares of water. Although it is not as beautiful as the West Lake in Hangzhou, it can also be regarded as a small jasper. Although there is no deep historical and cultural deposit of the West Lake in Hangzhou, it is also full of the highlights of Hakka culture. "Qingqu" is one of the eight old scenic spots at the source of the river. After several renovations, the lake is now more clear and rippling, surrounded by flowers and trees and weeping willows, which has become a beautiful landscape in the prosperous commercial area.

There is a couplet on the Yuanxing Pavilion in ximentang, West Lake: "why do you want to be greedy? You still go empty handed after you die; Mo Yi is too little. He came here naked before he died", which reflects the Hakka people's open-minded mind of contentment and happiness.

There is a beautiful legend about Huarong bridge in Dongmen pond. It is said that there is an ugly girl who lives by picking Osmanthus fragrans in Guishan. One day, when she went to the city to sell osmanthus medicine, she happened to meet the emperor who sent someone to set up a platform by the lake to choose a concubine. The crowd of people were watching, and the girl also crowded into the crowd to wait and see. Unexpectedly, she was accidentally squeezed into the water. It's strange that when she was rescued, she became as beautiful as a lotus, so she was elected to the palace on the spot. Since then, the bridge on the lake has been called Huarong bridge (also known as Hualong bridge). Of course, it's just a legend, but it also reflects the good water quality of Heyuan and the love of beauty of Heyuan people since ancient times. In the south of Hualong bridge is a zigzag feiluan bridge with flowers and plants on it. What is special about this bridge is that it doesn't connect the two sides. When you come to the end of the bridge, you are just in the middle of the lake. Sitting in the pavilion, you can enjoy the gentle breeze and watch the ripples of the lake. The excitement on the lake bank is in your eyes, but it's not noisy. It's easy to feel detached. There were two old banyan trees on the west side of Huarong bridge, but now there is only one left. The other tree had two branches. Before chairman Zhu De's death, one of them collapsed without any reason, while the other one collapsed without any reason before Chairman Mao's death. I don't know whether it was a coincidence or providence.

Across from feiluan bridge and Hualong bridge is Mingfeng bridge. There is a Mingfeng Pavilion in the middle of the bridge. It is said that when Li Tao built the crocodile lake, he intended to let this bridge and this pavilion symbolize his official sedan chair. In the past, Mingfeng bridge was also curved, so it had the nickname of "Qingqu", and "Qingqu of crocodile lake" also got its name. Unfortunately, it was later straightened to widen it. On the west side of Mingfeng Pavilion in the middle of the bridge, there is an interesting couplet: "the pavilion can enjoy the cool, so why don't the hot guests leave their paws; the bridge is the main road, and the husband will hold his head up when he passes here." on the east side of the bridge, the couplet is more elegant: "leaning on the sill, facing the Wu, the light is different from the pavilion, the courtyard condenses the wind of the building; relying on the fence, fishing, wandering in the pond near the dragon".
