Tubo tombs in jidui
Jidui Tubo tombs, located in Luozha County, Tibet, are distributed on the hillside to the south of the government of jidui Township, Luozha County, Shannan Prefecture, Tibet, covering an area of about 500000 square meters. They are ancient tombs of Tubo Period and were built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD).
The Tubo tombs in jidui were announced as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council in 2001.
The scale
There are 48 tombs and 11 sacrificial pits in the jidui Tubo tombs. The tombs are sealed with rammed earth with slate interlayer, and are radially distributed with No.1 tomb as the center. The earth seal of the tomb is in the shape of a bucket, and the plane is trapezoidal. The method of ramming with stone is adopted for soil sealing.
On both sides of the southeast side of the tombs, there are cliff inscriptions and inscriptions. The contents of the stone inscriptions are consistent with the inscriptions, recording the oath between a Tibetan king (Zanpu) and his minister dewuqiong in the Tubo Period.
historical value
Jidui tombs are of great value to understand the history of Tubo, the local history of luoza and the funeral system of Tubo. The Tubo tombs in jidui are a typical Tubo era cemetery in terms of shape and structure. According to the contents of the two cliff inscriptions in dewuqiong and mentang, they should be the tombs of the Luolang family in the area of luoza at that time. Jidui Tubo tombs is a large cemetery in the southern part of Shannan area of Tibet, close to the border of Bhutan Kingdom and the Himalayan mountains.
In addition, there are two cliff inscriptions in youmentang and dewuqiong as evidence, which is actually a rare ancient tomb site in Tibet during the Tubo Period and can be more accurately dated. It provides valuable material for the study of the forms and changes of burial customs during the Tubo Period, especially after the introduction of Buddhism into Tibet in the middle Tubo Period. At the same time, it also provides rare evidence for the alliance and its form and content in the period of Tubo expansion.
