Nanjinguan

Nanjinguan is located in the east entrance of Xiling Gorge, Yiling District, Yichang City, Hubei Province. It is the end of Xiling Gorge. It and Kuimen at the entrance of Qutang gorge are the natural portals of the Three Gorges. When the Yangtze River came out of nanjinguan, it got rid of the shackles of high Gorges and deep valleys and began to enter the vast plain of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.

Xialaoxi on the North Bank of nanjinguan is also called xialaojin. It is said that Liu Bei once defended the south of xialaojin.

The entrance of the Yangtze River from the East China Sea to the two or three step boundary of the Chinese mainland, south of Tianjin, suddenly emerges, and a grand canyon breaks down from the mountain. As the natural gateway of the Three Gorges, nanjingguan cut off the turbulent torrent of Xiling Gorge and the vast land of Jingchu. Nanjin pass is the end of the Three Gorges, out of Nanjin pass, that is, out of Xiling Gorge, into the smooth Jianghan Plain, the scene suddenly brightened, Nanjin pass can be called Jingchu gate.

Nanjinguan river is relatively narrow, only about 250 meters. The river water is like a sword, and the torrent roars, as if it pierces a line of passage in the mountains, which is spectacular. When they break through the door, they will be saved from danger, the water will level off, and the river will suddenly open up. This kind of scene is very unique.

On both sides of nanjinguan pass, due to the construction of Gezhouba Water Control Project and the large-scale renovation, many cliffs and dangerous walls have been blasted off, and replaced by highway bridges rising from Xialao River, towering navigation towers and high-rise buildings. The view of Gezhouba Water Control Project is especially amazing.

Hongyan tearful waterfall

It is one of the four famous waterfalls in nanjinguan. It is named for the red minerals on the cliff with a height of more than 100 meters and an area of nearly 1000 square meters. When the water volume is large, the width of the waterfall is tens of meters. It falls down from the sky and swings with the wind, which is very spectacular. From time to time, the water volume is flowing, graceful and charming.

What is particularly peculiar is that although the waterfall has been surging for thousands of years, it has not sunk into a deep pool. Instead, it has accumulated higher and higher, forming a hill with thick moss on the surface, which is lush and pleasant.

Baolian Feitian waterfall

Feitian waterfall, the treasure of nanjinguan Grand Canyon. After tens of millions of years of spring breeding, pieces of stalactites in the shape of lotus petals, layer upon layer, straight up into the sky, the local people vividly called "Baolian feisheng".

Chantan waterfall

One of the four famous waterfalls in nanjinguan, formerly known as Chang'e waterfall, is said to be Chang'e's waterfall. After she took a bath here, she wrapped herself in a Luo skirt and turned into a stone pillar on it.

Grand Canyon

Nanjinguan Grand Canyon is located in Xialaoxi River Basin on the North Bank of Xiling Gorge, Yiling District, Yichang City, covering xiaoxita, Letianxi and Huanghua villages and towns in Yiling District, with a total area of 108 square kilometers. In the southeast, there is Yichang Zigong highway, 10 kilometers away from the downtown area of Yichang; in the northwest, there is Zhanglian highway, 12 kilometers away from the Three Gorges dam. It is a high-end scenic spot with special tourism functions such as primitive Canyon exploration, rafting and outdoor development. As early as 4100 years ago, during the period of "Three Emperors and five emperors", the father of Dayu locked the evil dragon at the bottom of the canyon when he was controlling the water. Therefore, the Grand Canyon of nanjinguan was named "Xialaoxi". According to the book of mountains and seas, "the Yellow Emperor gave birth to Luo Ming, and Luo Ming gave birth to a white horse. The white horse is for he", who is the grandson of the Chinese ancestor Huang Di, also known as "white horse". Later generations also called this canyon "Baima Grand Canyon" in memory of the father of Dayu.

Nan Jin Guan is the starting point of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River and the boundary of the one or two level platform in Chinese mainland. "The water is here and the mountain is here and the mausoleum is there." Nanjin pass has always been a natural pass of "being the road of Shu and the town of Jingmen".

Nanjinguan Grand Canyon is 18 kilometers long, 3-50 meters wide and 100-250 meters high. There are many waterfalls and dense forests in the canyon. There are more than 40 landscapes, such as ancient post road, ancient plank road, ancient military academy, chantan waterfall, erliushui waterfall, Hongyan tearful waterfall, Baolian Feitian waterfall, SANDAOGUAN, yesanxia, thousand mu wild Chimonanthus, etc. it is one of the "top ten classic outdoor exploration routes in China" by Chinese netizens.

The qinjiamiao area in the lower reaches of nanjinguan is the most standard exposed area of the Middle Cambrian qinjiamiao group 500 million years ago. It is the location of the named section of "qinjiamiao group" in the world geographical circle, and also an important part of the Zhongjia Geopark.
