Zhenjiang Pavilion
Zhenjiangge is located on the Bank of the Yangtze River about 4000 meters downstream of Gezhouba Water Control Project in Yichang city. Zhenjiang Pavilion, known as "the fourth floor in the world", is majestic and powerful. Zhenjiang pavilion was first built in 1699. It is an antique building rebuilt in the 1980s. It was built by merchants in the city. It was used as a place for grain trading in Yichang history.
brief introduction
The original Zhenjiang Pavilion, a small brick structure, no longer exists. Later it was renamed "Yangsi Temple". There is no record of who Yangsi Temple worships. The legendary General Yang Si, a water god, occupies a position in the five saints palace. According to Yichang Fu Zhi, Yangsi temple is under Xiaonanmen (formerly known as Wenchang gate), not Zhenchuan gate. It is also clearly recorded in Donghu county annals that Zhenjiang Wangge was rebuilt in 1710 A.D. under the xisaimen (now Zhenchuan gate)
history
In the past, there were serious floods in the three rivers area of Yichang, which had a great impact on people's life. In the past, people could only bow to the power of nature. Although there are Huangling temple, Zhenjiang Wangge temple, Yangsi temple, Longwang temple and other temples along the Yangtze River in Yichang, and the shrines of Dayu, Longwang, Zhenjiang Wang and other water gods are surrounded by smoke all day long, the Yangtze River water disasters are still continuous. From a flood in 1860, we can see how serious the flood disaster was. "It's summer and may of the new year. It's raining heavily, day and night. The river rises suddenly and pours into the city. Six or seven feet deep. It's just a trial run by the government. Guozhou, Xiba and floating houses on the East and West Bank of Linjiang River are not included. " In 1700 A.D. (the 38th year of Kangxi reign of Qing Dynasty), the local government built Yangsi temple here in order to suppress the flood disaster and protect the people's safety. In the 1990s, the temple that had gone through the fire was dilapidated. Yichang municipal government rebuilt the pavilion and recorded the history of Gezhouba Water Control in the pavilion, which was named Zhenjiang Pavilion. Known as "the fourth floor in the world". Today's Zhenjiang pavilion was rebuilt at the original site by Yichang municipal government in the 1980s, not far from the downstream of Gezhouba.
Zhenjiang Pavilion is located in the present Riverside Park, facing the Yangtze River and the riverside road. It has experienced the ups and downs of 296 years. It is a pavilion style building built in the early Qing Dynasty with a two-story appearance and a three-story Xieshan roof. The pavilion is 15.95 meters high and 6.8 meters wide. A five story archway with two columns is built in front of the pavilion, which is 6.2 meters wide and 2.4 meters deep. It is connected with the wooden square of the front wall of the pavilion. The roof is covered with yellow glazed tiles, steep and steep, with four corners flying up, decorated with carved flower ridges. On the main ridge, there is a gourd shaped blue and white porcelain crown, with two ends decorated with kissing animals and fork ridges decorated with immortals and animals. The gable is decorated with two dragons playing with pearls, and the corner is decorated with lotus hanging columns. The cornice is not arched, but made of Zhiwen board, with only four corner cantilever beams and inverted animal inclined arches. In front of the pavilion, there are three rectangular woodcut boards on the bottom floor under the forehead square. On the boards, there are landscapes, pavilions, pavilions, various figures, flowers and birds. The carving is exquisite and vivid. In the middle of the board, there is also "huakaiyao Island 3000 years old, cloud around the 12th floor of Pearl Palace".
The three characters of Zhenjiang Pavilion were compiled in the calligraphy of famous calligraphers in China when they were rebuilt. What is wrong is that the three horizontal characters of Zhenjiang pavilion are missing one horizontal character, which has become an interesting talk of Zhenjiang Pavilion today. The seemingly impossible low-level mistake has its inherent inevitability. The two horizontal Zhenjiang River coincides with the fact that the Gezhouba Dam and the Three Gorges Dam lock up the Yangtze River. It's really worthy of the name. If there is a name, there must be a fact
Zhenjiang Pavilion is an antique building reconstructed by moving land. Its exquisite architecture is not inferior to the three famous buildings in the south of the Yangtze River. In order to restore the historical and cultural landscape of Yichang, the municipal government chose to rebuild Zhenjiang Pavilion on the site in January 1987, and carried out comprehensive repair on December 20, 2006. The renovated Zhenjiang Pavilion in Yichang City, Hubei Province, takes on a new look.
Today's Zhenjiang Pavilion covers an area of 536 square meters, with a construction area of 1336 square meters and a height of 26.29 meters. The pavilion is divided into four layers, with many arched eaves, golden tiles and silver ridges, and carved beams and painted buildings everywhere. You carved dragon xumizuo in bluestone, with white marble columns. There are 34 dragon columns in the pavilion. The wind blows in gusts, and the wind chimes on the attic of Zhenjiang make a very pleasant sound. From the pavilion, you can see the great Bank of Gezhouba. From the downstream, Yiling Yangtze River Bridge is across the river, which is very spectacular. You can enjoy the new appearance of Yichang by climbing the pavilion and looking into the distance. The beautiful scenery of Gezhouba and Yichang city can be vividly seen. The majestic appearance of the dam, the waves of the Yangtze River, and the scenery of Xiling mountain.
scenery
Zhenjiang Pavilion is located at the intersection of the two rivers. The terrain is steep and open. The water and the sky are vast. You can't help but see a bright vision. When you enter the pavilion, you can climb up and look at it from afar. You can have a unique view by standing on the threshold and facing the wind. The green belt between the riverside road and the riverbank revetment is like a green barrier winding with the river. There are tall Acacia and Cinnamomum camphora planted in the green belt. The forest is towering, and the pavilions cover the sky like a canopy, which is like clouds and smoke. On one side of the guardrail, pines and cypresses are evergreen all the year round, leaving a secluded path in the middle. Even at noon in midsummer, it is also a place with gloomy shadows, fragrant plants and cool feelings. It is indeed a unique geomantic treasure land.
Culture
For Yichang, Zhenjiang Pavilion is of great value in history, culture and urban landscape. It has witnessed the history of Yichang since the opening of modern port. From the Japanese occupation to the restoration of Yichang, from the construction of Gezhouba project to the construction of the Three Gorges Project. Yichang has become a famous city in Hubei Province and even the whole country from an unknown town. Zhenjiangge has witnessed all this. Zhenjiang Pavilion is one of the few historical and cultural landscapes preserved in Yichang.
Zhenjiang Pavilion is one of the symbols of Yichang's urban culture. The original city block of Yichang, north gate, east gate and Zhenjiang Pavilion, is the place with the richest historical relics and the most representative of Yichang, although most things have changed. Up to now, Zhenjiang Pavilion is still the core of the landscape belt along the river. Both Yichang city residents and tourists will take Zhenjiang Pavilion as a good place to visit. No matter from the Yangtze River boat view of Yichang, or from the south of the Yangtze River Moji mountain view of Yichang, Zhenjiang Pavilion is standing upright, is undoubtedly one of the symbols of Yichang landscape.
