Development history
Liqiaolou, formerly known as yushulou, is also known as Yongming palace and Red Mansion. Ancient Duanzhou was once the fiefdom of Zhao Ji, Emperor Huizong of Song Dynasty. After Zhao Ji succeeded to the throne, he personally wrote that this place was called "Zhaoqing mansion". The local officials built a high platform in front of the Yamen to worship the yushulou. Therefore, this building is also known as "yushulou". It was renamed lijiaolou when it was rebuilt in Ming Dynasty. After the completion of the building, there will be a bronze kettle, a bell in qianning and a drum in rattan. In the winter of 1925, the building was the site of the team directly under yeting independent regiment. By the 1950s, the building had been dilapidated and rebuilt into a reinforced concrete imitation wood structure, but the high platform foundation of the building still used the legacy of the Ming Dynasty.
Zhao Ji, Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty, was once the king of Duanzhou. Duanzhou was his fiefdom. After the throne, he was promoted to Duanzhou as a mansion and wrote to Zhaoqing mansion. In order to worship Yushu, in the first year of Chonghe of Song Dynasty (1118), a high platform was built in front of the yamen, which was named Yushu. In 1462, Sheriff Huang Yu rebuilt it and renamed it lijiaolou. At the end of Ming Dynasty (1646), Zhu Youlang, the king of Guangxi, ascended the throne here and changed it into Yongming palace.
At the beginning of the founding of the people's Republic of China, because the building is red, it is commonly known as the red building. Li Qiao Lou once displayed such timepieces as bronze pot drip, qianning bronze bell and rattan drum to tell the time. Bao Zheng, a famous Minister of the Song Dynasty, once served here for three years. He has made outstanding achievements and is famous for his incorruptness. On the arched gate of lijiaolou, there are also plaques of "ancient duanmingjun" and couplets of "Xingyan stands on the mountain and sea, and Yanzhu stands on the ancient and modern".
