Ladder River

Tizi river originates from the west of Tiyun peak and flows westward into Jinjiang River, which is the secondary tributary of toudao Songhua River. The river bed is only about 2 meters wide and tens of meters deep. The two walls are steep, the current is fast, and the river is clear and sweet. Because the river bed of the birthplace is steep, such as layers of stairs, it is called Tizi River; Tizi river section is covered by vegetation and rocks, only the sound of running water can be heard, but no water can be seen. Therefore, Tizi river is also called DIHE river. Because the river is so cool, it is also called natural refrigerator.

To the west of Tianchi in Changbai Mountain, there is a large fault zone with a length of more than ten kilometers extending downward from tiyunfeng, and its transverse waist cuts off the access to the mountain. This fault zone is Tizi river. Because the river course is steep, the gradient is formed, just like the ladder falling, so it is called the ladder river. It is also called the big ladder River, the underground river, the line sky and the prey river. There is also a river similar to but smaller than it, called the little ladder river. Tizi river is narrow, with a width of more than three meters. The narrowest part can be crossed in one step. It was covered with vines, weeds, rotten wood and dead branches, which were hard to see. The ladder river is steep and dangerous, and wild animals often fall down. In summer, Changbai Mountain is fresh and cool, and there are no mosquitoes. Groups of animals run from the foot of the mountain to the mountain for summer. But I don't know why. When they get close to the ladder River, they are often frightened and explode. They all try their best to jump forward. When they get to the ladder River, they can't stop them all at once, and then they plop straight down. Sometimes, more than ten of them fall at a time. Most of the people who fall down are killed, and those who can't survive will never survive, because the upper end of the ladder river is a cliff, and the lower reaches are blocked by daoshilazi. The river flows through the cracks, and they starve to death. There are many anecdotes about the ladder river.

One of the anecdotes

In the summer of 1980, the relevant departments formed an investigation team and went into Changbai Mountain. When they came to Tizi River, they found a large area of crushed Artemisia, and they concluded that the animal had fallen. If you fall from such a high broken wall, you have to break your legs if you can't die. Especially the legs of roe deer and wild deer are fragile and easy to break. But how can a man go down? Many are wise. Take off everyone's gaiters and waistband to form a rope, and then take off the shoelaces to be the waistband. We elected the brave old Chen to go down to look for prey. Tie one end of the rope to a big tree and the other end to Lao Chen's waist. Climb up and pedal down to the bottom of the river. A small roe deer is fluttering in the water! Due to the cold water in the Tizi River and the broken front legs of the roe deer, the young roe deer had to struggle in the water. Old Chen untied the rope in his waist, tied the roe deer, took out the whistle he used to get in touch with and blew it. Three calls for the signal, the people on the top pull together, first pull up the roe deer, and then put down the rope to pull old Chen. At this time, a black and big beast ran to Lao Chen with his teeth cracked. He was so scared that Lao Chen screamed and whistled. The man on the top knew that there was an emergency, so he quickly pulled the rope, and the beast's mouth almost bit Chen's heel. Looking down from the top, the beast looked strange and auspicious. No one knew what animal it was.

Once, three border guards went to the ladder River to patrol. They wanted to pick up a dead wild animal in the river to improve their lives. This ladder river is deep and cold, and the water is so cold that it doesn't freeze for only three or four months every year, so the wild animals fall down and die, and they don't rot when they starve. When you get down to the Tizi River, you should not only Wade and climb rocks, but also watch carefully to prevent wild animals from attacking. Suddenly, on the beach by the river, I found a pile of faeces of wild animals, steaming. Several soldiers returned in a hurry, grabbed the rope, and just climbed up the bank, a yellow Unicorn ran back after smelling the smell. It was really dangerous. Another time, a few mountain people went to the ladder River, also want to go down to pick some game to eat. Not far down to the bottom of the river, I saw the water and fog in front of me. Fang Shanren took off his clothes and took a hot bath. Just at this time, a few stones and leaves fell from it. I don't know what kind of beast pushed them down. Scared, they climbed up naked with their clothes in their arms. Five or six wild ginseng plants dug in more than ten days were thrown into the ladder river.

There is "ladder River" in Changbai Mountain. We can imagine that it is extraordinary only from this strange name. Visitors to Changbai Mountain, to the ladder River, are interested to see its wonderful.

Tizi river is a deep valley formed by the river through long and narrow cliffs. It is similar to the ladder used by the people because of its narrow top and wide bottom. It is called "Tizi River". There are two places of ladder River in Changbai Mountain: in Antu County on the north slope, and in the upper reaches of Erdaobai River not far from Changbai waterfall, but it is relatively short. The most famous one is located in Fusong County, west slope, near Weidong border work station. The South Jinjiang River and North Jinjiang River, tributaries of Songhua River, form two ladder rivers, each more than ten kilometers long.

Tizi river is very unique. It is said that it is a river on the ground, but it is only hidden in the ground. It is hard to see the river when it only hears the sound of the water. For the convenience of traffic, people use logs to build a "bridge" on both sides of the ladder river. This one or two meter long bridge is probably the shortest in the world. In fact, people can cross this river in one step in most places, and its widest part is only three meters. Although the river is narrow, it is deep, with an average depth of more than 10 meters, and the deepest reaches more than 30 meters. Standing on the bridge or by the river, looking carefully, you can see that the valley is erect and narrow, with moss growing on both sides, moist and smooth. The river at the bottom of the valley is like Dai. It is winding and sometimes there is no water. Standing by the river, I can only feel a cool air refreshing, coupled with the cliff turbulence, it is frightening. Throw a stone down. It's a long time before you hear the echo.
