Ayu tower
Located in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, ayuwang pagoda is the tallest and oldest Pagoda in Northern Jiangsu Province.
Development history
King Ashoka, according to the inscriptions embedded in the inner wall of the tower when it was built, there was a tower built here, which was called the second in the country in the Tang Dynasty. It can be seen that this tower has an important position in the history of tower building in our country.
Ayuwang pagoda has been a major scenic spot in Yuntai Mountain since ancient times. In Ming Dynasty, it was called "the ancient pagoda pierces the clouds" and in Qing Dynasty, it was called "Ta Ying reunion". It has five characteristics: first, it has an ancient history; second, it is deeply rooted, and it has experienced the baptism of Tancheng earthquake with magnitude 8.5 in 1668, so far it is not crooked; third, it has a magnificent tower shape, which complements each other with the beautiful scenery of mountains and rivers; fourth, it is able to see and climb, so tourists have the opportunity to participate; fifth, it has moving myths and legends, which doubles the pleasure of traveling.
Layout structure
The pagoda was built in the first year of Tiansheng in the Song Dynasty (1024). It is more than 40 meters high, magnificent and has nine levels and eight sides. The pagoda is built near the reservoir of Huaguo Mountain. It is an important scenic spot and historic site of Yuntai mountain. It was called "the ancient pagoda pierces the clouds" in the Ming Dynasty and "the pagoda shadow reunion" in the Qing Dynasty. It has a very beautiful implication! After the earthquake of magnitude 8.5 in 1668, it was not crooked. In 1974, when it was repaired, the Buddha's teeth, gold coffin and stone letter were found under the tower core column.
According to records, the Asoka pagoda of Haiqing temple was built in the first year of Tiansheng in the Northern Song Dynasty (A.D. 1023) and was built in the ninth year of Tiansheng (1031). It has a history of nearly a thousand years. It is a nine level Pagoda with a long history and the highest pagoda body in Northern Jiangsu. In the annals of Haizhou in Longqing of Ming Dynasty, it is described as "a precipitous building, a ring of mountains, a nine level pagoda, and a towering sky". The tower is shaped like an attic, with nine levels and eight sides, and is 40.58 meters high. "The upper view seems to come down from the sky, back to the sky, and the lower one seems to come from the ground, and the treasure hall connects with the sea.".
In the East, the west, the South and the north of each stage, there are ticket doors, and the other four sides are covered with straight lattice windows. The outer wall is surrounded by a corridor, and an octagonal brick column is built in the middle. There are steps in the brick column, which can go up the top of the brake along the stage.
The body of the tower is eight sides and nine levels, with a height of 40.58 meters. The wall of the tower is surrounded by a corridor, with a tower core column in the middle and an octagonal caisson with a chess bucket on the top. The outer profile is slightly curly. The first floor is higher, the south head gate, Shi Ping seat waist eaves, five shop for double copy steal heart to make fighting chess. From the second floor to the eighth floor, there are four doors in the East, West, North and south, and the other four windows are engraved. There are only waist eaves above the second floor, and the height of the ninth floor increases sharply. There are doors in the north and south, and four pavilions are built under the eaves to make a bucket arch.
There are six inscriptions on the wall of the pagoda. In the first floor of the "dark room", 26 cultural relics have been unearthed, including stone letters, iron boxes, silver coffins, gold coffins, silver coffins, silver boxes and "Buddha's real body relic" and "Asoka Buddha's teeth", as well as coins of the Northern Song Dynasty.

Haiqing Temple Pagoda inherits the Song Dynasty's "construction method", which is skillfully constructed. The site and base of the pagoda have been carefully selected and treated.
