Pengzu tomb
Peng Zu, the ancestor of the great Peng Kingdom, was honored as Peng Zu by later generations because he was granted the title of establishing the great Peng kingdom in Pengcheng. It is said that Pengzu lived for more than 800 years. In fact, Pengzu's country has existed for more than 800 years. The burial sites of Pengzu include Xuzhou, Jiangsu (formerly known as Pengcheng), babaili, Lin'an, Zhejiang, Pengshan, Sichuan, Pengcun, Pengzhen, Yijun, Shaanxi, Yanling, Henan, Linqing, Shandong, etc. According to the research of historians, the tombs of Pengzu in Lin'an, Zhejiang Province, Pengshan, Sichuan Province, and Yijun, Shaanxi Province were all left by the descendants of Pengzu when they moved to the South and West after Shang Wuding destroyed Da Peng. Only Peng Zu's tomb in Xuzhou is the real tomb where Zhen Keng's body was buried. The rest are only the tombs where Zhen Keng's clothes or descendants were buried. In addition, there are traces of Pengzu in Fujian (Wuyishan), Gansu (Tianshui) and guangtiao Township, Xiaofeng, Zhejiang.
Introduction to scenic spots
The tomb of Pengzu in Xuzhou is located in Dapeng village, Dapeng Town, Tongshan District, Xuzhou. This is the hometown of Pengzu. There are Pengzu temple, pengzujing, Pengzu tomb and other scenic spots.
Pengzu temple was built in the Eastern Han Dynasty. It was restored three times in Tang Dynasty, Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. The original Pengzu temple has a main hall and a side hall. Inside the hall stands the statue of Pengzu, bareheaded and barefoot, about 4 meters high. There is a man and a woman on both sides, Taohua and Zhouwu. There are four statues of Wen, Liu, Ma and Zhao (all figures of the Zhou Dynasty) on the East and West gables. There is a statue of Guanyin in the East Hall. 60 meters in front of the temple gate, there is a legend that Pengzu dug the world's first well - Pengzu well. Pengzujing has been the source of drinking water for generations in Dapeng village. In the northeast corner of the temple, there is a tomb of Pengzu and a remnant stele.
Pengzu temple was destroyed during the "Cultural Revolution". In 1993, Sankai hall was built on the original site, which is more than 10 meters high. In the temple, the iron statue of Pengzu was imitated and the statue of Pengzu was rebuilt. The temple yard is 300 square meters. Pengzu well was built with a well Pavilion and an ancient stele. In 1994, Pengzu tomb was rebuilt. The temple fair of Pengzu, which had been interrupted for decades, was restored, and its lively scene was no less than that of that year. Overseas Peng's descendants went back to Tongshan County of Xuzhou City to seek roots and worship their ancestors, sightseeing, and invest in repairing the Pengzu site.
