Shikengkongfeng
Shikengkong peak, also known as mang peak and mengshikeng peak, is located in the mountains more than 70 kilometers west of Ruyuan Yao Autonomous County. It is the junction of Guangdong and Hunan, also known as mang peak. With an altitude of 1902 meters, it is the highest peak in Guangdong. At the foot of Shikengkong peak is Babaoshan wild plant nature reserve. There are many kinds of animals and plants here. The precious tree species are Pinus kwangtungensis, hemlock of South China, Euonymus japonicus, etc. Precious animals include South China tiger, South China Yuanguan deer, golden cat, and many birds. The top of the peak is a huge granite, with a cliff of nearly 90 degrees in the southeast and a steep slope of nearly 80 degrees in the northwest. Even if a thousand pound bomb is put into the tunnel in the middle of the mountain, the rock will not move at all. It is said that it took more than half a year to blast the tunnel group in the granite at the peak. Now to visit the tunnel group is an essential project for climbing the peak.
On the top of the mountain at an altitude of 1500 meters, there is a beautiful Tianchi Lake. The lake is calm and the water is clear. It is an indispensable scenic spot. Shaoguan and Ruyuan have cars to Nanling National Forest Park, where there are roads leading to various scenic spots.

Shikengkong peak is the largest oasis on the Tropic of cancer. It preserves the largest and most well protected primeval forest in South China and the world's subtropics. It was called "the first peak in South China" in ancient times. In terms of its height, it surpasses Taishan in the East, Songshan in the middle, Hengshan in the north and Hengshan in the south, and is almost the same as Huashan in the West. The total area is 138.8 square kilometers. The ancient primeval forest, the mysterious mountain canyon, the peculiar karst landform, the rare wild animals and plants, the warm mineral spring everywhere, and the picturesque Qingliu waterfall construct the natural wonders of "majestic, strange, dangerous, beautiful, broad, mysterious and secluded" in the scenic area; the view from the top of the peak Pavilion, you can have a great view of the mountains and small, unique feeling. The pavilion is built at the highest altitude of the first peak, 1902 meters above sea level. It is deeply loved by photographers. The vast mountains are undulating, and the clouds are ethereal and picturesque.

At the foot of shikengkongfeng, there is a natural reserve of plants in Babaoshan. There are many kinds of animals and plants, among which the precious species in the westward journey are Pinus kwangtungensis, hemlock of South China, Euonymus japonicus, as well as Ganoderma lucidum, Gastrodia elata, Eucommia ulmoides and other precious medicinal materials. There are more than 10 kinds of rare animals, such as South China tiger, leopard, South China Yuanguan deer, Sumen antelope, golden cat, black bear, Macaca, and many birds.
Tips
If the temperature is low and the weather is changeable on the Kongfeng mountain in Shikeng, you should remember to bring an extra piece of clothes and rain gear. It's better to wear water resistant anti-skid shoes when the mountain road is wet and slippery. Those who love photography should never miss the sea of clouds and sunrise on the mountain. October to February of the next year is the best season for viewing the sea of clouds on the Kongfeng mountain in Shikeng.
