Yangyuan mountain scenic spot is named for its unique stone Yangyuan stone (28 meters high and 7 meters in diameter). It has a tourist area of 6 square kilometers. Yangyuan mountain and Danxia Mountain (Presbyterian peak) face each other across the river. It is named for its unique stone Yangyuan stone. This area is a mountainous area with yangyuanshi as the center, and it is a unit tourist area in Danxia Mountain scenic area.

Most of these rocks have the same shape and spirit, especially the "Yangyuan stone", also known as "zushi", which is lifelike. Anyone who looks at them will marvel at the uncanny workmanship of nature. Elephant man, elephant beast and elephant object are like a red stone sculpture garden, with 20 or 30 scenic spots. The main scenic spots in the tourist area are yangyuanshi in the south, Kunyuan mountain in the north, Ximei village, Jiujiu TIANTI, xuanjitai and Tiangang bridge in the West. Kunyuan mountain

Kunyuan mountain, also known as "Sleeping Beauty" and "jade girl blocking the river", is located in the northwest of Danxia Mountain. The whole mountain is 1300 meters long and the highest peak is 317 meters. It looks like a girl lying horizontally. She sleeps on the river. Her nose is pretty, her arms are soft, her legs are outstretched, and her jaw, chest and abdomen are beautiful. This is the legendary empress Nu Wa, the ancient Yue people who lived here in ancient times. It is said that Nu Wa made man to mend the sky. Therefore, Kunyuan mountain is also called "Di Mu Ling" and "Nu Zhu Zhai". The river at the foot of Kunyuan mountain is rich in colorful brocade stones, so it was called Jinjiang in the Han Dynasty. It is said that the colorful stones in the river are the stones scattered by Nu Wa to mend the sky.

Shaoguan railway station has a Danxia tour bus (15 minutes, 10 yuan per person) to the new gate of Danxia Mountain. You can buy tickets for the scenic spot at the new gate (package ticket 70 yuan, including the main area of Danxia Mountain)

There are 50 kilometers from Danxiashan to Shaoguan railway station, which are connected by secondary roads; there are shuttle buses to Renhua county, tourist buses and taxis to Shaoguan at the new gate of Danxiashan; there are 38 pairs of passenger trains to all parts of the country in Shaoguan. If you want to go to Fujian or Jiangxi, you can change to the coach from Shaoguan to Fujian or Jiangxi at Zhoutian. If you go north or south to the Pearl River Delta, you can take the train.

If you choose to drive by yourself, go northbound 3 km from Beijing Zhuhai Expressway at the south exit of Shaoguan (Qujiang), turn to Shaoguan Jiangxi Expressway and drive 30 km to get down to Danxia exit. Then walk 10 km on national highway 106 to Danxia Mountain Gate.

Tour route

1. The total length of Tongtai bridge hunyuandong line is 2.5 km, with a journey of about 2 hours. Enter from tengshe'ao, yangyuanshi tourist area. Scenic spots along the way include Tongtai bridge, Tianmenguan, seal stone, Yunmen cave, Hunyuan cave, weathered mudstone, shiziyan, shiziyan Temple site, ximeizhai dyke, etc. Tongtai bridge is a landmark bridge of Danxia Tiansheng bridge. The mudstones and argillaceous siltstones in hunyuandong are very typical, which are the boundary between bazhai member and jinshiyan member of Danxia formation.

Along the way, the scenic spots include strange face cliff, huiyuanchi, Baitai, yunya plank road, jiadunting, Ximei village, Jiujiu TIANTI, xuanjitai, fengcheyan, shaibuya, shuangrushi, etc.

The best time to watch yangyuanshi is the sunny morning; the Ximei village on the top of the mountain is the best place to watch Danxia sunset.
