Taiping River

Taiping River is a tributary of Hutuo River, originally called Chahe river. The section is composed of two sections: the ancient channel and the North flood discharge channel. The west end of the section is connected with the Taiping River in Luquan City, and the East reaches the entrance of Hutuo River. The total length of the section is about 17600 meters, and the width is 120-200 meters. According to the standard of "once-in-50-year return period", dikes are built on both sides of the river, mountains are built for landscaping, shelterbelts and green belts are built. It is an ecological river integrating flood control, sand control and tourism in the north of the city. Hutuo River and Taiping River, originally called Chahe River, are two flood discharge rivers located in the northwest of Shijiazhuang City, the capital of Hebei Province, which are responsible for flood discharge, water supplement and other important functions. For many years, the Taiping River is narrow and silted up due to the failure of integrated urban management and the establishment of a perfect drainage system. All kinds of sewage are directly discharged into the river, and more than 3 million cubic meters of construction and industrial domestic waste are accumulated along the line, which stinks. As a first-class water source protection area in Shijiazhuang City, the exploitation amount of TAIPINGHE area accounts for 70% of the total urban groundwater supply. There are many groundwater intake wells around, but many of them have been abandoned due to the pollution of water sources and the deterioration of ecological environment. The ecological development and improvement project of Taiping River starts from Hutuo River in the East and ends at beixincheng in the west, with an additional water surface of 2.64 million square meters and green space of 4.9 million square meters, forming a waterfront ecological landscape corridor with a total length of 14.25 kilometers. Among them, the 7.8km east section of the original Chahe river regulation project has been completed in early September 2005 and opened to tourists on October 1. It not only provides a new place for leisure and entertainment, but also becomes a good habitat for migratory birds. Every weekend and holiday, a large number of citizens come to visit, fish and fly kites. On March 7, 2005, the swans that had not been seen for many years flew to the Taiping River in groups, adding a lot of vitality to the beautiful Taiping River. On October 2, 2005, Taiping River successfully held the Tsinghua Cambridge Sino British rowing competition, which attracted more than 100000 people from the provincial capital to watch, making it a highlight of the "11" golden week. The 6.45km west section is the original Northwest Water Conservancy and flood control ecological phase I project, which was started in October 2004 and completed on May 1, 2006 and opened to tourists free of charge. It has formed a 6.45 km water landscape and five belt parks on the north bank. The five parks are not only independent of each other, but also connected with each other. They are built according to water and integrated into each other. All kinds of aquatic plants grow near the water, and the plank road is interspersed among them, which perfectly combines the landscaping with the water conservancy and flood control channel.

Hutuo River

The constructed wetland is located in Hutuo River beach at the downstream of Taiping River Estuary, covering an area of more than 900000 square meters. Gaogang shuiwa is an ideal habitat for all kinds of birds. It is a green vegetation composed of Prunus humilis, Sonneratia psammophila and wild aquatic plants

Taiping River sculpture square covers an area of more than 13000 square meters. The square is named for its 8.8-meter-high sculpture with the theme of "blooming the future". Taking into account the echo with the surrounding environment, the parking lot, roads and plant planting are all around the sculpture, forming a comfortable stay and viewing space.
