Liugong Island National Forest Park
Liugong Island National Forest Park is located in Liugong Island, an ancient battlefield of Sino Japanese War of 1894-1895, with a total area of more than 4000 mu, accounting for 74% of the total area of Liugong Island. As of 2011, there are more than 60 kinds of trees in the park, the forest coverage rate is as high as 87%, and the forest vegetation resources are rich. The park has a temperate marine climate.
The Jiawu naval battle ruins and other places of interest are all over the park, belonging to the national "key scenic spots" and "key cultural relics protection area", and also the only "marine Forest Park" in China. Liugongdao National Forest Park is also a national 5A scenic spot, a national civilized scenic spot, a national ocean park, a red tourism classic scenic spot and a patriotism education base.

Liugongdao National Forest Park is located in Weihai Bay on the coast of Yellow Sea, the easternmost tip of Shandong Peninsula, 2.1 nautical miles away from Weihai City. Liugong Island covers an area of 3.15 square kilometers, 4.08 kilometers long from east to west, 1.5 kilometers wide from north to south, 0.06 kilometers narrow from north to south, and 14.9 kilometers long coastline.
The geographical coordinates are 37 ° 30 ′ 1.68 ″ N and 122 ° 10 ′ 48.57 ″ E.

Liugongdao National Forest Park is mainly composed of Lower Proterozoic gneiss. The lower part is dominated by biotite plagioclase gneiss with granulite, thin biotite schist, lenticular amphibolite and marble. The upper part is dominated by biotite plagioclase gneiss with granulite. The terrain is high in the north and low in the south, high in the West and low in the East, with the highest altitude of 153.5 meters. The central and southern coast is flat and open with low elevation, generally 2-5M. The north slope is steep, the sea erosion cliff is upright and precipitous, and the reefs are dense. The south slope is gentle, and the upper Pleistocene loess layer is accumulated, and its front edge is obviously submerged by sea level. At the west end, there is a sea erosion terrace more than 10 meters above the sea level. The soil on the island is mainly brown soil, the mountain is coarse brown soil, and the rest is common brown soil.
Climatic characteristics
Liugongdao National Forest Park has a pleasant climate, which is characterized by cold spring, cool summer, warm autumn, mild winter, small temperature difference between day and night, and long frost free period. Liugong Island Scenic Area has a temperate marine climate with an average annual temperature of 12.6 ° C. Due to the influence of the ocean, the temperature in summer is lower than that in inland, with an average temperature of 24 ° C. The annual precipitation is 940-1073.7mm.

As of 2011, Liugongdao National Forest Park has a total of about 19 subjects and more than 80 species, including Pinus thunbergii and more than 50 species of wild flowers and plants. The vegetation grows well, and the forest coverage rate is as high as 87%. There are Ginkgo biloba, pine, fir, cypress, Podocarpus, Magnolia, rose, Yunshi, butterfly, Platanus acerifolia, willow, birch, elm, mulberry, bitter wood, maple, lacquer tree, Sapindus mukorossi, Scrophularia and other plant subjects in the park. Among them, Longbai, gingko, Pushu, beech, Langyu, Zheshu, Wujiaofeng, sanjiaofeng, Yanfu, luanshu, Baihua Paulownia are the only ones in Weihai.
Animal resources
As of 2011, there are more than 50 kinds of birds in Liugongdao National Forest Park, such as seagulls, Orioles, turtledoves, larks, cuckoos, woodpeckers, etc. the park is also the habitat of wild animals such as rabbits, snakes, lizards, etc. There are more than 200 Wild Sika Deer in the park.
Geothermal resources
The geothermal spring in Weihai area is famous for its high temperature, easy exploitation and early exploitation. Liugong Island area of Weihai City and its adjacent hot spots are mined by geothermal enterprises, with annual geothermal exploitation of 401800 m2. It is mainly used for bathing, medical treatment, health care and breeding. Baoquan decoction is highly developed and utilized according to its superior position.

Liu Gongquan
Liugongquan on Liugong Island is named after the place where Liugong dug springs to draw water in ancient times. All kinds of boats from south to North passed by Liugong Island and went ashore to draw spring water. Sufficient spring water supply is an important condition for Liugong Island to become a maritime transportation hub.
Banjiangshi
On the Bank of the northern slope of Liugong Island, several huge natural slate stones go down the slope and reach the sea. They are similar to ginger and are connected together, so they are named as Banjiang stone and later evolved into Banbi stone. Due to the fact that the plank stone extends into the water and is as high and low as a ladder, it is easy to climb and lead and becomes a natural wharf.
Tingtao cliff
On the north slope of Liugong Island, there is a cliff, with its back against the green mountain and facing the sea. On the mountain, the pines and cypresses are green and luxuriant. At the foot of the mountain, the cliffs are steep and precipitous. When the gale comes, the waves are striking the shore like thunder, and the pines are roaring like ten thousand horses galloping. The sound of pines and the sound of sea waves is one of the most frightening sounds, so it is called "Tingtao cliff".
Beicaozui
At the northernmost end of Liugong Island, there is a prominent mountain mouth with a wide field of vision. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, a lookout was set up here. Because there is a kind of exuberant and exuberant shellfish grass which is close to human height, it is called shellfish grass mouth.
Beiyang Navy loyalty monument
Beiyang Navy loyal soul monument was built in October 1988 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Beiyang Navy. It is hexagonal and 28.5m high. On the front of the upper part are seven golden characters of "Beiyang Navy loyal soul monument". On both sides of the lower part are group reliefs of Beiyang Navy officers and soldiers fighting bravely to kill the enemy. From a distance, the monument looks like a sword piercing into the blue sky in the green cluster, symbolizing the unyielding soul of the Chinese nation against the invasion of foreign groups.

China Sea altar
The Chinese sea altar, as well as the temple of heaven and the temple of earth, is a sea sacrificial altar composed of 56 giant dragons. In the altar, the 16.8-meter-high Dinghai God stands majestically. With the theme of sacrificing the soul of the Chinese sea and displaying the sea power culture, it is a landmark building in the Expo Park. The top of Dinghai Shenzhen is embedded with a huge night pearl with a diameter of 1.4 meters, and the Dragon King of the four seas arched around Shenzhen.
Weihaiwei Historical Museum
The British rented Weihaiwei historical museum is located in the underground of the Chinese sea altar in the Expo Park, with an exhibition area of 1890 square meters. With modern exhibition means, it briefly shows the basic historical facts during the 32 years of British rented Weihaiwei (42 years of Liugong Island).
Wanghai building in Tang Dynasty
Wanghai tower was originally built by the governor of Dengzhou in the Tang Dynasty to welcome Empress Wu Zetian to "inspect the eastern coastal areas". It is divided into four floors, with a height of about 9 Zhang, a cornice, carved beams and painted buildings. Each floor of the building is equipped with a hall, which is named Guanxiang. The first to fourth floors are "Chunfu", "Xialu", "Qiushou" and "Dongxi". Every time you enter the hall, you can see different scenes. When you reach the top floor, you can have a panoramic view of the island, the sea, the mountains, the boats, the gulls and egrets.

As of 2004, the 35kV Power Transmission and transformation project has been successfully completed in Liugong Island Scenic Area. The operation of the project will provide sufficient power guarantee for the development of Liugong Island in the next 10 years. The park also invested in the transformation of roads, greening the environment, and improving the supporting work of infrastructure.
Up to 2004, Liugong Island Scenic Area has invested more than 50 million yuan to repair and repair 100000 square meters of cultural relics and historic sites, and has done a lot of work in the protection of historical sites, the collection of Northern Navy generals' ink and the British rent of social diaspora cultural relics in Weihaiwei period.

History and Humanities
The cultural landscape on Liugong Island is rich and unique. There are not only the Warring States ruins dating back to thousands of years, but also the moving stories of Liu Gong and Liu mu in the Han Dynasty; there are a large number of cultural relics and historic sites such as the Beiyang naval commander's office and the naval Academy in the Qing Dynasty, as well as many European style buildings left over from the British colonial rule.
According to historical records, Weihai was called Shiluo village in the Han Dynasty. At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, it belonged to Donglai county and was a vassal of the royal family surnamed Liu.
