Duofu Temple
Duofu temple is a scenic spot on the top of juiwei mountain, 24 kilometers northwest of Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province.
Historical evolution
Initial construction
Duofu temple was built in the second year of Zhenyuan (786 AD) of Tang Dynasty, formerly known as juiwei temple. It is one of the monasteries of Manjusri Bodhisattva. The incense is very popular in Tang and Song dynasties. Li Keyong and Li Cunxu (Zhuangzong in later Tang Dynasty) and their son once came here to worship Buddha and burn incense, and the situation of the temple was unprecedented.
Renovation and reconstruction
It was destroyed in war in the late Song Dynasty and rebuilt in Hongwu year of Ming Dynasty. It was an important place for worshiping Buddhism in the royal clan of Jin Dynasty. It was renamed Duofu temple in Hongzhi year (1488-1505). Then it was rebuilt many times.

Entering the mountain gate, Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall, sutra collection building and Thousand Buddha Hall are from south to north, and the scales are listed on the central axis, forming a three entrance courtyard. On both sides, the bell and Drum Tower, the side hall and the Zen hall are well arranged. The gate of the mountain and the palace of the heavenly king are integrated into one, with two generals and four heavenly kings inside. The main hall opposite Tianwang hall is the main building of the temple. The hall is seven rooms wide and five rooms deep. It is surrounded by corridors. There are bright columns in the front and back eaves. The roof is surrounded by glass. It is magnificent and magnificent. There are three Buddhas and four Bodhisattvas in the hall. Sakyamuni Buddha is in the middle, and the pharmacist Buddha and Mitha Buddha are on both sides. Before the separation of the three Bodhisattvas, Puxian, Guanyin and Manjusri, there was another Avalokitesvara sitting upside down behind Sakyamuni Buddha. There are 84 comic strips on the walls of the hall, reflecting the life story of Sakyamuni Buddha. They are skillful in painting, fluent in lines, exquisite in coloring, strong in three-dimensional sense and vivid in image. They are rare murals of the Ming Dynasty. The main hall was overhauled in the mid-1980s.
The Sutra collection building, the main building of the second entrance courtyard, is a double-layer complex of shangyoudong. The six pillars connect the upper and lower parts closely. It is natural and complements each other. The name of the cave is Chengxi cave. The pavilion is called Wenshu Pavilion. The dripping ink on the stone pillars of the cave gate is Mr. Fu Shan's handwriting, which is quite precious. There is a statue of Fu Shan in the easternmost cave. In the red leaf cave on the east side of the Sutra collection building, Mr. Fu Shan once studied and practiced medicine here. Three Bodhisattvas in the shrine on the top of the cave are post sculptures. There is a statue of the Dragon King in the Dragon King Hall on the west side of the Sutra library. The well in front of the hall is the "dragon pool" given by Manjusri Bodhisattva.
The main building of sanjinyuan is Qianfo hall, which is located at the top of the temple. The hall is for the third Buddha and four Bodhisattvas. There are more than 870 Buddha statues on three walls. The original peony in the peony pool in front of the hall was more than 500 years ago, but it was destroyed in the turbulent times.

Juiwei mountain scenic spot
Located 24 kilometers northwest of the city. The mountain is steep, with pines and cypresses everywhere. In spring, the mountain flowers are blooming, and in autumn, the mountain is full of red leaves. "Juiwei Hongye" is one of the famous scenic spots in Taiyuan. The temple faces south, surrounded by pines, cypresses and mountains. At the top of the southeast peak in front of the temple, the brick pagoda of the seven level relic built by Song Dynasty stands majestically. Climbing the pagoda, you can have a panoramic view of Taiyuan city. The red leaf cave in the temple is the reading place of Mr. Fu Shan, a thinker. There are rocks in the southeast of the temple, under which is the "Pearl slope". It used to be an ancient rock road for monks to carry water and believers to worship Buddha. Now it is built into 340 multistage stone steps, which is the best route for tourists to climb the slope from the foot of the mountain. Climbing up the slope to the top of the rock, there is a six point seven storey relic Fengshui pagoda. Standing on the base of the pagoda, you can have a panoramic view of Jinyang from the East; looking to the west, the ancient pines are divided into North and south slopes, and "South pines and North cypresses" is one of the wonders of juiwei. In the pine forest, there is the "Qisong nunnery" where Fushan lived in seclusion.

The temple was first built in the Northern Qi Dynasty and rebuilt in the fifth year of jintaihe (1205). It was divided into two chambers. The main building in the front yard is the Great Buddha Pavilion, which is East-West oriented. The two-story pavilion with single slope and double eaves was rebuilt in the 20th year of Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1541). There is no fence. You can visit the Buddha from the pavilion. Entering the pavilion and entering the cave, the cave is 25 meters deep and 7 meters wide. Fu Shan
