Shengshan Temple
Shengshan temple is located in Shengshan village, Xindian Township, the northern suburb of Fuzhou. It is said that the mountain came from Kuaiji when King Gou Jian was king of Yue. The temple was first built in the third year of Chen Tianjia (562), and then destroyed. In 1904, it was rebuilt, covering an area of 586 square meters. The main buildings are Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall, Guanyin Pavilion, etc. The main hall is five rooms wide and five columns deep. It has a wooden frame with a single eaves hanging from the top of the mountain. There are Dendrobium carved in the sixth year of Xuanhe of Song Dynasty (1124). On the cliff behind the temple, there are inscriptions of famous people such as Zhang Quhuo and Liu Mengbo in Song Dynasty and Lin Zexu in Qing Dynasty. On the eve of liberation, the contact station of the city Work Department of the CPC Fujian Zhejiang Jiangxi Provincial Committee was set up here. It was listed as a cultural relic protection unit at district level in 1986.
