Nanwan Lake Scenic Spot

Nanwan Lake scenic spot is composed of Nanwan lake and Nanwan National Forest Park. With Nanwan Lake as the center, mountains and islands as the landscape connotation, it has rich natural landscape and cultural landscape. It is known as "the first lake in the Central Plains", "the south of the north, and the north of the South". It is a National Forest Park and a national water conservancy scenic spot. Development history

Built from 1952 to 1958, the reservoir is a comprehensive reservoir integrating flood control, power generation, breeding, water supply and shipping. The dam is 38 meters high, 835 meters long, 8 meters wide at the top and 22.4 meters wide at the bottom. The lake area is 70 square kilometers, the reservoir capacity is 1.63 billion cubic meters, and the drainage area is 1100 square kilometers. Nanwan Lake scenic spot, centered on Nanwan Reservoir, is a collection of natural landscapes such as forests, islands, mountains, lakes, pools and waterfalls, with a total area of 443 square kilometers, including 80 square kilometers of water area, 12 times that of Hangzhou West Lake. In the lake, there are 61 islands, such as bird island, Monkey Island and summer island. The dam of the reservoir stands between the two mountains and cuts off the Shihe River. Shihe River full of moon is one of the eight famous sceneries in Xinyang. On the east side of the dam, Xianshan mountain rises and falls, and on the south side there are Xianshan temple, Xianyin cave, etc. It enjoys the reputation of "the Pearl of Zhongzhou" and "the first lake in the Central Plains".

Nanwan Reservoir Dam

In the scenic area, there is the Nanwan Reservoir Dam, which was built in 1955. On the east side of the dam, there is a continuous mountain. In the south of the mountain, there are many historical and cultural relics, such as Xianyin temple, Xianyin cave, liangwanglei, Xianshan Anti Japanese War site and so on. Nanwan National Forest Park is established on the basis of Nanwan Forest Farm, with a total operating area of 121000 mu. Xinyang Maojian tea is famous at home and abroad. Wuyun tea mountain in the upper reaches of Nanwan lake is the main producing area of Xinyang Maojian tea, forming a tea culture chain integrating tea production, tea picking, tea making, tea marketing and tea performance.
