Agricultural College of private Fujian Union University
In 1936, private Fujian Union College established two departments of Agronomy and agricultural economics.
In the 29th year of the Republic of China, the Department of horticulture was established and the Department of agriculture was established.
In the 31 years of the Republic of China, it was changed into an agricultural college. At the same time, the union college established three colleges of Arts, science and agriculture, and became the Union University.
The College of agriculture of Peking Union University has three departments of Agronomy, horticulture and agricultural economics. The school is located in Kuiqi Township, Fuzhou City.
During the Anti Japanese War, he moved to Shaowu county and moved back to the original site after the victory of the Anti Japanese war.
In April 1951, the people's government took over the private Fujian Union University and the South China Women's College of Arts and Sciences, which were merged into Fuzhou University. The Agricultural College of Union University was renamed as the Agricultural College of Fuzhou University, which is still running in the original site.
Fujian Agricultural College
Founded in 1940, Fujian Provincial Agricultural College has seven departments, namely, agronomy, horticulture, forest, plant diseases and insect pests, agrochemical soil, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, and agricultural economy. It was first located in Yong'an county and moved to Fuzhou after the victory of the Anti Japanese war.
In June 1951, Fujian Provincial Agricultural College was merged into Xiamen University and changed into Agricultural College of Xiamen University, which is located in Fuzhou City

Merging schools
In 1952, the national colleges and departments were adjusted, and the Agricultural College of Xiamen University and the Agricultural College of Fuzhou University were merged to establish Fujian Agricultural College, which is located in the original site of Fuzhou Kuiqi Union University. There are three departments of Agronomy, horticulture and forestry, with a total of 198 staff, including 18 professors, 6 associate professors, 9 lecturers and 391 students.
In 1958, the Department of forestry was separated from Fujian Forestry University. In the same year, Fujian Agricultural University established Zhangzhou Branch.
In 1960, Zhangzhou Branch was under the leadership of Longxi Prefecture Party committee and renamed Zhangzhou agricultural college.
In 1962, Zhangzhou agricultural college was abolished and merged into Fujian Agricultural College.
In 1958, Fujian Agricultural University moved to Meifeng, a suburb of Fuzhou, covering an area of 1100 mu, and developed into 6 departments and 13 majors.
In 1962, it began to recruit graduate students.
By 1965, Fujian Agricultural University had 1308 students and 327 full-time teachers, including 18 professors and associate professors and 65 lecturers. The total value of instruments and equipment is more than 1.5 million yuan. The library has a collection of 170000 books. There are farms, garden farms, livestock farms, agricultural machinery factories, bee farms, etc. More than 10 teaching and research sites have been established in the province. The agronomy Department has cultivated the rice variety "Meifeng No.3" which is popular among farmers, the Horticulture Department has cultivated the cabbage variety "Funong No.3" and cauliflower variety "Funong No.7" which are famous at home and abroad, and the Longhua base point of Xianyou County has popularized the technical measures of "sugarcane seedling transplanting", which has achieved remarkable economic benefits.
During the "Cultural Revolution", Fujian Agricultural University was abolished in 1969, cadres and teachers were transferred to work, most of the books and instruments were destroyed and lost, and the campus was occupied.
In 1972, Fujian Agricultural College and Fujian Forestry College merged and re established Fujian agriculture and Forestry University. The headquarters of the university is located in the original site of Xiqin Fujian Forestry College in Nanping City, and its branches are located in Sanming City and Shaxian County.
In 1977, Fujian agriculture and Forestry University was abolished and Fujian Agricultural College was restored, running in Jingdong, Sanming City and Yangfang, Shaxian County.
After smashing the "Jiangqing counter revolutionary group", especially since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, after bringing things out of order, Fujian Agricultural University has been restored and developed, with seven majors restored and six more established.
Since 1977, four-year undergraduate students have been recruited.
In 1979, Fujian provincial Party committee approved the reconstruction of the school in Jinshan, Fuzhou. The campus covers an area of more than 1800 mu, with a total construction area of 120000 square meters.
In 1981, he was awarded the first batch of master's degree conferring rights in China. The four majors of crop cultivation and cultivation, crop genetics and breeding, entomology and economic forest were approved to set up master programs.
In 1984, he was awarded the second batch of doctoral degrees in China. The doctoral program of crop cultivation, cultivation and Entomology was approved. The doctoral tutors were Professor Zhou Keyong, a famous sugarcane expert, and Professor Zhao XiuXiu, a famous entomologist

In 2003, the University was identified as a key construction university in Fujian Province.
In 2010, it was selected as the national "characteristic key discipline project" construction university.
At the end of 2011, he was selected into the public postgraduate program of national construction high level university.
In January 2013, he was selected into the National College Students' innovation and entrepreneurship training program.
In September 2014, it was selected as one of the first batch of National Pilot Universities for the reform of excellent agriculture and forestry talents education and training plan.
In July 2016, it was rated as one of the first batch of national innovation and entrepreneurship typical experience universities by the Ministry of education. In November, it was selected as the national innovation and entrepreneurship base of university practice education. In the same year, it was selected into the "plan of introducing talents for Discipline Innovation" jointly organized by the Ministry of education and the State Administration of foreign experts (hereinafter referred to as "111 plan").
In March 2018, it was selected as the "double first-class" construction university in Fujian Province (first-class university construction university in Fujian Province).
