Longxu pool is the highest waterfall pool among the five pools in Xianyan scenic area. It is surrounded by mountains and steep cliffs. It got its name because water flew down from the 40 meter high cliff above the pool. When it passed through the lower part of the cliff, it naturally divided into countless straight lines of water training, which looked like the beard of an old man. The dragon beard Pavilion and several cliff carvings beside the dragon beard pool add a lot of humanistic atmosphere to its magnificent natural scenery.

It is also said that emperor Xuanyuan once made an alchemy in Xianyan mountain. When he ascended to heaven, he passed by here and was torn off a lock of dragon's whiskers at the corner of Lanyan mountain to form today's Dragon's whisker waterfall.
