It is confirmed that there are ancient human activities in yanjiagang area in the late Paleolithic period. Later, the Heilongjiang Provincial Cultural Relics Management Committee organized the excavation, unearthed more than 3000 specimens, and found two semicircle shaped remains surrounded by a large number of mammal bones, making it an important Paleolithic site in northern China.
Excavation of cultural relics
Later, the Heilongjiang Provincial Cultural Relics Management Committee organized the excavation, unearthed more than 3000 specimens, and found two semicircle shaped remains surrounded by a large number of mammal bones, making it an important Paleolithic site in northern China. The mammal fossils unearthed from the site belong to the rhinoceros mammoth group of guxiangtun formation in late Pleistocene, with 36 genera and species. A considerable number of pieces of animal bones with marks of artificial strike and carving were unearthed, and traces of arc-shaped belt made of ancient animal bones were also found. Carbon 14 dating shows that the site is in the late Paleolithic period more than 20000 years ago. As an important supplement to the study of Paleolithic age in Northeast China, it also provides new information for the study of ancient geographical environment and ancient climate in Harbin.

An overview of Yan Jiagang's history
The late Paleolithic site of yanjiagang is located 25 kilometers southwest of Harbin, about 20000 years ago. Two half circle deposits composed of hundreds of animal skeletons were found in hy84ta3 and hy84t4 of the site, which are considered by the excavators to be ancient human camps. This conclusion has caused a lot of controversy. By comparing some late Paleolithic sites in Europe and northern Asia, it is concluded that although different types of sites are located in different regions, they show some common characteristics in many aspects. The relics found in the late Paleolithic period are identified as prehistoric human sites, and basically have more than three common characteristics at the same time. There is no sufficient evidence to prove that the animal skeletons in yanjiagang site are ancient human sites. According to the characteristics of fluvial sedimentology, the distribution pattern and sedimentary characteristics of the two ring structures are analyzed. It is pointed out that the upper layer of skeleton accumulation is smaller and the lower layer becomes larger, which is most likely due to the sorting of flowing water near the sand dunes. The hypothesis that the different accumulation types lead to the difference of bone distribution between the two places is put forward. The hypothesis can better explain the circular shape and the reason for the difference of bone accumulation between the two places, and can explain the phenomenon that some bones are sorted and accumulated in layers from small to large, the inner wall of the accumulation is straighter than the outer wall, and some parts have a certain inclination. Combined with the analysis of other related trace phenomena, the author speculates that the two animal skeletons may be the remains of slaughtering in the process of human hunting, not the sites of early human beings. At that time, it was not the leaders of the society, nor the ordinary members of the society, but the ordinary members of the nobility who used the Jue shaped jade ornaments with animal face. The use of Jue jade ornament with animal face in Hongshan culture is to show the special skills and mysterious social functions of its users together with jade hoop. The users may be men, but in Xiaoheyan culture, the use of Jue jade ornament with animal face is only a common ornament for women - earrings.

On the 15th day of the first month of the ice festival, the ice festival is a local folk custom. It has a long history. On the night of the Lantern Festival, people light candles and put them on the river to form various shapes. At the same time, men, women, old and young all have to roll and play on the frozen river. It is said that they can roll away troubles, disasters, good luck and happiness. This custom originated from an old legend. Once upon a time, the daughter of the Songhua River God Unicorn fell in love with a young fisherman here and married him, living a happy and peaceful life. On the first day of the lunar new year, the one Horned Dragon opened up the river with one Horned Dragon and captured the Dragon Girl. He wanted to punish the young men and villagers with the plague. The Dragon Girl asked the young man to roll on the ice on the night of the 15th day of the first month, nine rolls on the left and nine rolls on the right, so that he could escape the plague. So on the night of the Lantern Festival
