Street renovation
In June 2003, the municipal government issued the "plan for comprehensive improvement and upgrading of the environment of toudou road", mainly relying on the geographical advantages of Gogol street to create Russian style.
When it comes to geographical advantages, the surrounding area of Gogol street is unique, because it is a street with strong Russian flavor.
Old Gogol Street
The "one belt" is a comprehensive transformation of Gogol street, which will drive the old "motorcycle" into the long street. Harbin tram started in October 1927, and first drove between Gogol street and Gexin street. It was demolished in 1987 and exited from the historical stage. It is reported that many metropolises in the world have retained trams with their own characteristics, such as Melbourne, Zurich, etc., and Dalian, Changchun, Hong Kong and other places in China have also retained a section of trams. In order to show the historical years and satisfy people's nostalgic complex, the trams in Harbin reappear on the Gogol street, letting people relive the "old scenes" and reappear the old customs. In addition, Gogol Street boldly advances and extends the "bar culture". There are many bars and Internet cafes in Gogol street, which has the foundation to further extend the "bar culture". Learning from the successful experience of Sanlitun in Beijing, Maoming Road in Shanghai and Julu road in Shanghai, it will be built into a "bar culture" street. Large isolation windows are used for each shop surface, and unified planning is carried out in convex concave way, so as to achieve the effect of connecting the outdoor commercial hall and the commercial hall. Build a bar culture corridor with bars, dining bars, Internet bars, tea bars, disco bars, book bars, song bars, painting bars, etc., so that healthy bar culture can enter the market and people's life.
On the south side of Gogol street is the Central Hospital of Dongqing Railway (now Harbin Railway Central Hospital), which was built in 1904. It covers an area of more than 80000 square meters. There are lots of green trees and Russian style buildings in the hospital. The office building, outpatient department, affiliated room and Central telephone office of the hospital are typical Russian architectural groups. Under the background of the green shade, they form a pastoral scenery of Far East Asia. It gives people a feeling of returning to nature. The office building of Harbin railway hospital is the former central telephone office, which was built in 1907. The building has a medieval fortress shape and a sharp top, reflecting the romantic architectural style. Up the street are the Harbin railway passenger section and the "Aoliante" Cinema (now Peace Cinema), which was built in 1908. This romantic building with Renaissance and Gothic spires is the earliest cinema in China. On the opposite side of it is the "jigante" Cinema (now Asia cinema), which was built in 1925. It has the control composition of ancient Greek Corinthian column, and the tall pillars hold up the decorative mountain flowers. It is a typical classical Renaissance architecture.
Located in the center of Gogol street, Qiulin company, a Russian multinational company completed in 1908, is a building reflecting the trend of new movement. Among the numerous exotic architectural groups along the street, aleksheyev church, built in 1912, is the most prominent and has the most Russian architectural style. The church is located at the intersection of Shike street and Gexin street. The designer is Russian Milov tovtanovsky. The church itself is Baroque style, with complex structure, rich lines and corners, red and white. The tent top with a small dome on the bell tower and the onion top on the top of the main body echo back and forth, complement each other and have a unique charm. In 2000, the surrounding area of the church was transformed into a square, which became a good place for leisure in the city.
India Street on Gogol Street
Another advantage of Gogol street is that it has a Russian commodity folk trade block built in the 1980s. It mainly deals in tourist souvenirs from Russia, including fur, daily necessities, handicrafts, clothing and military products.
