Guanmen mountain is an ecological popular science scenic spot located in Muyu Town, Shennongjia provincial tourist resort. Next to national highway 209, it belongs to Shennongjia National Nature Reserve and Shennongjia National Geopark. It is an important scenic spot and out of print scenic spot in Shennongjia, and also an important part of Western Hubei ecological and cultural tourism circle.

With its authenticity and intuitiveness, the natural ecological museum shows the biodiversity of Shennongjia to the public, making it a platform for Shennongjia ecological environment education, scientific research and teaching practice base, and the dissemination of traditional natural culture. The natural ecology museum is composed of four theme museums, including geological museum, ecological museum, scientific research Museum and folk custom museum, one Yeren cave, one reception hall, one academic lecture hall and one temporary exhibition hall.

The rare plant protection garden is a large-scale comprehensive mountain forest botanical garden, which mainly focuses on species protection, scientific research, tourism, and takes into account the functions of popular science education. More than 2000 species of native plants, 150 species of endemic and rare plants, 112 species of native wild fruit trees, 56 species of wild orchids, 23 species of wild rhododendraceae, 46 species of red leaf trees, 162 species of medicinal trees, 46 species of medicinal shrubs, 60 species of medicinal vines, 876 species of medicinal herbs, 80 species of Rosaceae and 14 species of Chimonanthus praecox in Shennongjia and its surrounding areas were collected.

Wildlife park is a tourism project integrating wildlife breeding, scientific research and appreciation. The main breeding animals are sika deer, white muntjac, small muntjac, pheasant, snake, giant salamander, golden trout, rainbow trout, turtle, Siniperca chuatsi, Schizothorax qikouensis, sturgeon, Chinese bee, etc.

During the construction period, Guanmen mountain ecological science popularization scenic spot was highly valued and supported by leaders at all levels, scholars and international friends. From 2007 to 2010, we received more than 40 times of investigation and research activities, involving more than 1300 people and more than 400 trees.

Traffic routes

The main mode of transportation in and out of Shennongjia is highway. Mainly from Shiyan and Yichang. From Shiyan to Songbai Town, and from Yichang to Shennongjia to Muyu town. From Yichang to Shennongjia, it's better to take the express bus from Yichang to Xingshan County, every 30 minutes, 3.5 hours on the way, and then take the bus from Xingshan to Shennongjia Muyu, 1.5 hours, which is more convenient. If you go to Shennongjia directly from Yichang, there is only one bus every day, which is inconvenient. Shiyan City to Shennongjia Shiyan City is about 202 kilometers away from Shennongjia. It takes about 7 hours by car. The bus starts at 7:00 a.m. every day. From Wuhan to Shennongjia, you can take a long-distance bus at Xinhua road long-distance bus station. There is a sleeper bus from Wuhan to Xingshan County at 8:00 p.m. every day. The ticket price is 90 yuan / person at 6:00 a.m. the next day. There is a minibus in Xingshan to reach Muyu town of Shennongjia (60 km). There is a bus every half an hour, and the ticket price is 10 yuan per person. You can also take the train from Wuhan to Shiyan (10:00 p.m. train, more than 6:00 a.m. to Shiyan), then take the bus at 7:30 a.m. to the bus station, and you can get to Songbai town in Shennongjia at noon. From Chongqing to Shennongjia, you can get off the ship at Badong port. There is a shuttle bus to Shennongjia at 5:30 every day in Badong. You can also get off the ship at Xiangxi Wharf (small passenger ships only stop), and then take a bus to Xingshan, and then take a bus to Muyu Town, Shennongjia. The traffic is very convenient.

Tour route

Tour route: the scenic spots are distributed along Shicao River, with a total length of 8km. Visitors can take a battery car to visit the scenic spots or walk along the pedestrian path. Fast tour about 3 hours, slow tour about 1-2 days. Along the way, there are 11 bridges connected with roads and scenic spots.
