Development history
In 1939, the Japanese army planted more than 20 cherry trees in Wuhan University, mainly on today's Cherry Avenue. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, Wuyue returned to Luojia mountain in October 1946;
In March 1947, teachers and students of Biology Department of Wuhan University observed that there were 28 cherry blossom trees in the campus, which were evenly distributed among the three arches of laozhaishe and in front of the four gateways on both sides (7 in front of each gatehouse). With hatred for Japanese militarism, some people suggested cutting down cherry trees, but the troops stationed in Wuhan at that time advocated keeping every plant in wudali. As a result, the first generation of cherry trees in Wuda were preserved.
In 1957, due to the short life cycle of cherry trees, the first generation of Japanese cherry trees almost died;
In 1972, with the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, the Japanese Prime Minister visited China and presented Premier Zhou Enlai with 1000 cherry blossoms. As Zhou Enlai once lived in Luojia mountain and engaged in Anti Japanese and national salvation activities, he transferred 50 of them to Wuhan University and planted them in front of banshanlu.
In the 1980s and 1990s, to commemorate the friendship between China and Japan, Japanese friends presented cherry saplings twice.
Today, there are more than 1000 cherry blossoms in Wuhan University, mainly including Japanese cherry, mountain cherry, Chuizhi Daye cherry and Honghua gaopen cherry. Many of them are cultivated by scientific researchers or transplanted from other places in China. They are all over Cherry Avenue and Kunpeng square, humanities Museum, administration building and many other places.

Ticket selection
Netizens query
In 2011, cherry blossoms in Wuhan were particularly popular. On the 26th, 200000 people flocked to Wuhan University, which has the most beautiful cherry blossoms. However, some netizens asked: why does the cherry blossom of Wuhan University charge tickets? What do you do with the money? Does Wuda rely on cherry blossoms to make money?
School response
In response, the person in charge of Wuhan University responded. "Although millions of tourists visit Wuda every year, only a few of them buy tickets. The annual ticket revenue of cherry blossom in Wuhan University is not 8 million yuan, but 1 million yuan. This response undoubtedly shows that Wuhan University does not rely on cherry blossoms to make money, and the response also includes the general whereabouts of 1 million yuan of income - most of the income is spent on cherry blossoms, and the rest is used to subsidize poor students. From the perspective of "financial revenue and expenditure", it is basically clear - of course, if we really want to make it clear, we need to publish a more detailed account book - however, this response makes us more confused. This is: why only a small part of the 1 million visitors buy tickets?
Deep reflection
Wuhan University is a university campus, teachers and students live in the campus, inevitably there are scholars visiting, teachers and students visiting relatives and friends, as well as cooperation between schools, so it is impossible to charge tickets to all those who enter the campus. Therefore, it is very normal that some people do not buy tickets, but only a few people buy tickets, which is unreasonable.
To be sure, those who buy tickets must have nothing to do with Wuhan University. They only buy tickets honestly. And who are so many people who don't buy tickets? The admission of cherry blossoms does not limit the flow and maintain the order of the campus. On the contrary, the free and free tickets in the fees increase the popularity of Cherry Blossom tours. This makes the reason why Wuhan university accepts the tickets somewhat untenable.
As a public university, it is unfair to sell tickets to ordinary people, but it is free and free for some people. If a ticket costs 10 yuan, excluding half of the 1 million person times that must be free, the ticket income should be 5 million, and the income is only 1 million, which means that 4 million has been given away. For this, a detailed account should be given.
A cherry blossom ticket is not a big deal, but it makes people confused and tangled. I don't want to worry about whether to charge for watching cherry blossoms. For open schools
