The island is covered with shade and green vegetation, and several acres of farmland support the people on the Bank of the river. The stone peak with stone steps is surrounded by cliffs. In history, Guanyin pavilion was built on the top of Jigong stone. Every February 19 of the lunar calendar is a grand period of Guanyin meeting. From Jinjiang, Judian, Tacheng, Jianchuan and Heqing along the two sides of the river, as well as the faithful men and women in Derong, the rural city of Sichuan, Liangmei village and Jigong Stone Island are packed. At that time, Guanyin Pavilion also performed for people to watch, people worship Guanyin, watch opera, recite poetry and paint. There is also a folk legend about the origin of Jigong stone.
legend
It is said that a long time ago, the God of Bayankala mountain wanted to turn the Tiger Leaping Gorge of Jinsha River to Tacheng into a vast sea. He decided to use the steep and narrow terrain of the Tiger Leaping Gorge to block the water with sacred stones, so that the river overflowed into the sea. The mountain god ordered the two sacred stones to go to Tiger Leaping Gorge before the rooster crows the next day. Two sacred stones came from the foot of Bayankala mountain and arrived in Yunnan in the middle of the night. One of them couldn't walk any more and had a rest in front of Liangmei village. Knowing the malice of bayankara mountain, Guanyin Bodhisattva tried to stop his behavior and save all living beings. When Shenshi is resting, she wakes up the roosters in Liangmei village and makes them crow in unison. As soon as the rooster crows, Shenshi, who is on his way and resting, loses his divine power and stops here forever. The shape of the stone is similar to that of a rooster. Because of the plot in the legend, it is called the rooster stone. Because of the prosperity of temple fair activities, people also call it "jiangshang Putuo".
