Yima Temple
Yima temple is located in Kangma County, Shigatse, at the foot of Yima mountain to the north of salu village, Mada Township, 12 kilometers southwest of Kangma county. It was founded in 822.
The temple is located in the west to the East, surrounded by double-layer walls on all sides, with 108 small towers in the middle. Its relief art is of great research value. There are three halls in Yima temple. In the middle hall, there are seven clay Buddha statues such as Sakyamuni and wuliangshou Buddha; in the south side, there are 11 clay Buddha statues and two Dharma gods; in the north side, there are various ugly demons and beasts on the walls. On the 8th and 15th of every month in Tibetan calendar, villagers of saru go to the temple to burn incense and worship Buddha.
