Historical evolution
It is said that more than 300 years ago, there was a nun named Yexi Zhuoma who had been practicing meditation for several years. Once, when her female disciples returned to the Buddhist temple, they did not see the nun. They immediately went out to shout for the nun. After hearing this, the nun returned to the Buddhist temple. Only then did the female disciples see the nun in the cave where people were hard to reach. Yexi Zhuoma (called nun in Chinese) was practicing meditation in that cave, and pills served as fasting food The fruits of cultivation are passed down from generation to generation. The "Jiao Mao" in the nunnery Temple take abbess Yexi Zhuoma as an example, strictly abide by the temple rules and sincerely practice.
Temple scale
There are eight Benkang (pagodas in Chinese) built around Nanzong nunnery temple. After reconstruction, it covers a total area of 40 mu. The main building is a big Sutra hall with 42 rooms. It is the center of nuns' collective religious activities. The main offerings in the Sutra hall include lianhuasheng master and apprentice, statue of jiuzhecheyangduojie, and many sutras, as well as Dharma instruments such as drum, spiral horn, suona, cymbal, etc. A total of 86 nunneries, 260, is a relatively independent living environment and religious activity place for nuns.
