Jiama Palace
Mozhugongka county is 73 kilometers away from Lhasa in the West and 206 kilometers away from gongbujiangda County in the East. As early as the Tubo Dynasty, it was the political center of royal ministers. From the map, it can be clearly seen that to the south of it is the Zedang area where the Yalong tribe was located, but in the middle there is a barrier formed by the high mountains of Gangdise. In the 6th century, Songzanganbu's father, Nang RI Songzan, crossed the barrier to the north of the Yarlung Zangbo River and came to Mozhugongka. He annexed the Supi tribe to the north of Lhasa and made a temporary residence in moti. Songzanganbu was born in jiamamingjiu palace of Mozhugongka. At the end of the 6th century, the center of the dynasty moved from here to Lhasa.
Jiama Palace site is located in the southwest of Mozhugongka County, adjacent to Sangye District in Shannan area. In 1640, Gushi Khan, the leader of the Mongolian nobility, entered Tibet. Ten thousand heads of Jiama chikang fought with him, and many ancient buildings were burned and destroyed. The Royal Palace of the 6th century no longer exists, but now the castle is quite old, with a history of more than 700 years. There are countless archery holes on the city wall and horse pits outside the city gate, reminiscent of the ancient battlefield filled with gunpowder. Today's jiamagou has become an outing place for some Lhasa tourists because of its beautiful scenery.
