Shatoujiao port

Shatoujiao port is a port connecting the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the people's Republic of China and Shenzhen city of Guangdong Province. It is located in the east of Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. It is the intersection of "one country, two systems" and an auxiliary comprehensive passenger and freight port serving Yantian, Longgang and the east of Pearl River Delta.

Shatoujiao port was opened to the outside world with the approval of the State Council of the people's Republic of China in September 1984. It was completed and put into use in March 1985. On January 28, 2005, a new cross-border bridge was opened at Shatoujiao port.

As of January 2019, the total land area of Shatoujiao port is about 42000 square meters, including 5700 square meters for entry-exit passengers and 36000 square meters for entry-exit goods; in 2016, the number of entry-exit passengers at Shatoujiao port was 3.313 million.

Historical evolution

In 1984, the State Council of the people's Republic of China approved the opening of Shatoujiao port to the outside world.

In March 1985, Shatoujiao port was built and put into use.

On January 28, 2005, a new cross-border bridge was opened at Shatoujiao port.

Since July 1, 2009, the opening hours of Shatoujiao port have been extended from 07:00-20:00 to 07:00-22:00.

In November 2015, Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission issued the preliminary cost of Shatoujiao port reconstruction project.

In January 2016, the upgrading and reconstruction of the entry and travel inspection channel area of Shatoujiao port started. In mid May, the upgrading and reconstruction project of the entry and travel inspection channel area of Shatoujiao port was successfully completed and put into use;

In the same year, the bidding for the feasibility study of the reconstruction project of Shatoujiao port was completed and the feasibility study of the project is being carried out.

On May 14, 2019, Shenzhen Port Office held a news conference of Shenzhen port clearance reform and innovation seminar, planned to demolish and rebuild the joint inspection building at Shatoujiao port, and completed the feasibility study report of Shatoujiao port reconstruction project.

China's Guangdong province is located in Yantian District, Shenzhen City, Shenzhen Province, west of Sha Tau Kok town, Yantian District, Shenzhen, east to Sha Tau Kok bonded area and Yantian port. Passenger and freight volume

In June 2009, the passenger flow through Shatoujiao port reached 180000 person times; in July, the passenger flow through Shatoujiao port reached more than 200000 person times, an increase of 14% over June, of which the outbound passenger flow increased by 16.3%.

In 2016, the number of entry-exit passengers at Shatoujiao port was 3.3131 million, with an average of 8555 per day, a year-on-year decrease of 8.9%, and the number of entry-exit vehicles was 811 000, with an average of 2216 per day, a year-on-year decrease of 1.2%.

 

During the Qingming Festival in 2019, more than 35000 passengers were checked and released at Shatoujiao port.

Bus routes

As of October 2018, Shatoujiao port is located in Shashen Road, with a bus stop, a total of 10 bus lines.

Cross border bus

As of May 2017, there were cross-border buses on Sha Tau Kok express line at Sha Tau Kok port, with two routes leading to Hong Kong International Airport Station and Hong Kong Kowloon Tong station respectively.

Social car park

As of May 2017, the Immigration Department of Shatoujiao port has set up parking spaces for social vehicles.

 

Value significance

The implementation of the extension of Shatoujiao port has further expanded the tourism market in the eastern part of Shenzhen and enhanced the attraction of the eastern area. At the same time, it has also provided more flexible time for residents between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. As a result, it has expanded the activity space and facilitated business travelers, which is generally welcomed by residents of Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
