Pudong meteorological science museum was opened in December 2000. It is the first Meteorological Science Museum in China.

Shanghai Pudong meteorological science museum is located next to Pudong Century Park. The exhibition hall covers an area of more than 700 square meters. It is divided into two floors and consists of 11 parts.

In accordance with the popular science tenet of "society understands meteorology and meteorology serves society", Shanghai Pudong Meteorological Science Museum, based on weather forecast business and primary and secondary school textbooks, makes full use of the existing exhibition space of nearly 700 square meters to concentrate and display meteorological detection technology, weather forecast technology and meteorological services, and connects the real-time business system to the exhibition hall, so that visitors can be on the scene. At the same time, it is equipped with observation instruments, which can be operated by visitors to increase participation and interest. The exhibition hall makes full use of video conference and virtual reality technology, and also places some physical models, such as tornadoes, electrostatic generators, lightning, etc., so that visitors can feel the magic charm of nature.

The exhibition hall makes full use of video conference and virtual reality technology to show the public the composition of the atmosphere, the formation principle of various weather phenomena, the method of meteorological observation, the production of weather forecast and other knowledge, so that the public can establish a scientific outlook on nature and the universe, and improve the public's scientific and cultural quality and awareness of disaster prevention and mitigation.

In combination with World Meteorological Day, science and technology week, winter and summer vacation, Pudong Meteorological Science Museum has carried out a series of activities such as "base school" hand in hand science and technology communication activities, going into science and going into scientists.
