About the author
Chen Xianzhang (1428-1500), a native of baishali, Xinhui City, Guangdong Province, was named Gongfu and Shizhai. In his early years, he learned from Wu Yu Bi and studied Zhu Xue. He failed in several examinations to enter Beijing, so he studied behind closed doors. "So he built a platform, which was famous for Yangchun and sat in silence for several years." His works were compiled as complete works of Baisha by later generations. There are biographies in volume 283 of history of Ming Dynasty and Baisha study case in case of Confucianism of Ming Dynasty.
