Xia Yan (1900.10.30-1995.2.6), formerly named Shen Naixi, was born in yanjianong, Pengbu Town, Yuhang County, Zhejiang Province. He is one of the pioneers of China's new culture movement, a famous Chinese writer of literature, film and drama, a literary critic, a literary artist, a translator and a social activist.
