Lanxin Grand Theater
Lanxin Grand Theater, drama, dance drama and other performance venues. In March 1867, the British raised money to set up the Lanxin theater at the intersection of Yuanmingyuan on Nuomin road. It was named Lyceum Theatre in English and performed by the a.d.c. It was destroyed by fire in March of the 10th year of Tongzhi. In the 13th year of Tongzhi, Huqiu road was rebuilt.
Historical evolution
In 1907, Chunyang society performed the drama "black slave calling on heaven" for the first time. In 1930, it was relocated and opened in February. It was called Lanxin Grand Theater, with 749 spacious leather chairs on the second floor of the auditorium. It was closed by the Japanese invaders in July 31 of the Republic of China, and then managed by the puppet Chinese film company. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 34 of the Republic of China, it returned to a.d.c. in September. After the liberation of Shanghai, in October 1949, Yingqiao opera company sold the theater to Shanghai Drama and film workers association. The first manager was LV Fu. In 1952, it was transferred to Shanghai Municipal Bureau of culture and renamed Shanghai Art Theater. In 1953, it was transferred to Shanghai People's Art Theater. It was handed over to Luwan District in September 1958 and returned to the Municipal Bureau of culture in May 1959. In 1985, it was under the management of the city performance company, in 1989, it was under the management of Lanxin art management company, and in 1991, it restored the original name of Lanxin Grand Theater.

Important performance

After liberation, it has been the main place for drama performances in Shanghai for a long time. Shanghai People's Art Theater has created and rehearsed many plays, including music and dance performances. The show also undertakes the important performance task of receiving central leaders and distinguished guests from all over the world. On January 11, 1960, Mao Zedong, Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai, etc. watched the national dance drama "the little sword club" of Shanghai Experimental opera house. On July 22, 1964, Liu Shaoqi, Chen Yi, etc. watched the modern drama "the morning of the harbor" of Shanghai Renmin Huai opera company (namely eight model operas Beijing Opera "the harbor", adapted from Huai opera "the morning of the harbor"). In 1983, with the support of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, the Municipal Bureau of culture and the Tourism Bureau, it opened a special foreign affairs business, received foreign guests and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and performed music, dance, opera and acrobatics programs with Chinese national characteristics. Lanxin Grand Theater is one of the oldest theaters in Shanghai since its opening as a port.
